An epic thread, it must be said. All good-natured stuff, & deeply funny most of it. Poker players are a class apart when it comes to having a little moan about trivial stuff, but they can also return it with knobs on. Great stuff.

I've just realised that the thread title includes the word "fiasco". That'll be the 56p fiasco, I guess. I wonder what the adjective would be if it were, ooh, I dunno, say, £1?

Lol- sorry, even the thread title is making me chuckle.

    'Snowball fiasco'.

Chels, this might become a cult classic. Good effort :)

When I got married, we honeymooned in Antigua. Big posh, 5 star+ all-inclusive resort. Holiday of the decade (for us simple working folk) and granted, a phenomenal hotel. As per usual at all-inclusive places, all meals, drinks (not local rubbish, but named brands) included, as well as unlimited and free waterski-ing, scuba diving, motor boat hire and much more. The rooms/suites even had optics and ice making machines in the rooms plus beer/soft drink fridges, all restocked as necessary. The bars were table service if one so wished and even had containers of inclusive cigarettes for the smokers.
After a week, a bloke from England started a conversation with me at a bar and he told me proudly that he'd complained to the manager that there wasn't any lighters on the bar/s tables, only matches, and that his wife didn't like the toilet paper. He was of course the sort of geezer who would complain if he won the lottery because it wasn't a rollover week.
    There's a moral there somewhere.
However, I do honestly believe in this case though, that we have read a windup thread. It sure is a good one though!

That's weird- I wrote the above post at the same time you were writing yours, Tikay. Great minds etc.

Anyway- here is my handy guide to hyperbole in these situations...

    OVERLAY      ADJECTIVE

    56p             Fiasco

    £1               Disaster

    £1.50          Calamity

    £2               Pandemonium

    £2.50          Catastrophe

    £3    Extinction event

Great Idea Tikay.....put it to Sky Rich....

    You could also have...
    POST of the week.
    BAD BEAT of the week.
BEST LEAVING THREAD of the week.
BEST TKO WIND UP of the week.

and the prize could be.....i dunno........56p. But this would have to be shared equally between the 5 winners......which would be.....oh, hang on.......£0.112 each!!!. I SEE THE FLAW IN THIS PLAN NOW.

Lol at this thread and the tongue-in-cheek good-naturedness of the replies. I can however, offer an explanation. Has anyone seen the movie Superman III? Remember when, at the beginning of that film, Richard Pryor took all the decimal point shortfalls off the paycheques of everyone he worked with, backdated them and added them together to become an overnight millionaire? Well, I've been collecting all the MTT decimal point penny shortfalls since 2007.  I now have enough to buy a Twix. Haha, who's laughing now, suckers?

Something similar happened in real life about 20 years ago. A guy who worked in the accounts department of AT&T (an American giant Telecoms corporation) made a minute change to the computerised billing. He diverted 1c from every paid bill into an offshore account in his name He ran this for a number of years until he was finally found out during an audit. The offshore account had accumulated over $100 million and he hadn't spent a penny of it.

Some of the detail may not be strictly accurate as it's from memory but you get the idea.
