Breaking News. The major has just announced a visit.

  • thedazzmanthedazzman Member Posts: 926
    Excellent!

I managed the same on Monday. Hopefully we can get a min cash at least for a decent return from a freeroll.

See you at the final table 😁

Another profitable week so cant complain too much, Wednesday saw some good PLO8 results and a 3rd place in the 200+ seat 8pm Bounty Hunter followed by an 8th place in Saturday nights 7@7, which is a game I know I shouldn’t play, but it’s a quick format and i have a short memory span.

The lessons learned from the knockout hands in the 2 deep runs above stood me in good stead for the Sunday Major Freeroll on Sunday evening earning a seat with a 3rd place finish.

The Major was tough handing out little in the way hands and I was surrounded by some Sky Poker Generals. By the time the 2nd break came I was sat 82/86 with 40% of my starting stack

Roll on just past the end of rebuys, shortly after the 3rd break I mistakenly pushed my 12BB Ace Jack into queens and lost half, the beginning of the end. Over the next 2 hands I managed to turn 2BB into 15BB.
Moving a few hands I called a cut off shove with Ace six (i know its a fold there) villain turned over the underrated 7 2 off suit which had my hand dominated as a 2 hit the turn. left with dust my Ace ten in the next hand couldn't overcome Ace King and out.

On a lighter note a 3rd place cash in the only omaha game played for a few weeks almost went unnoticed.

Not a good week for the challenge but still well in profit so we take the weekly hit and move on.

Last week the "sub" challenge 101 £2.20 DYMs was finally completed at the 3rd attempt and ended with an overall profit so that was ticked off as a success.

I know that this in itself is a challenge but find that i do not really have the motivation and often wonder why i even bother at times, despite my efforts i continue to revert back to multi table finger clicking and i do not know how to stop this.

So i need something in addition to this to concentrate on and report in more detail than just the figures above, deciding what was the question i needed to answer, as well as the old question of 'what is a challenge'.

Going quickly through my results this year i could see that there was 1 Game which was losing money game after game the 7@7 Bounty hunter so what better game to challenge myself on.

    37 Games.
    £284.90 Staked
    £78.31 Returns
    £206.59 down.

What better way to have a challenge than on your worst performing game.

The challenge is to simple break even by the end of the year. Starting Figure -£206.59

    Much the same.

In focus. 'Sub' Challenge 7@7 Bounty Hunter
    23.08.21. 85 of 144.
Having taken 2 early bounties i 3 bet a raise all in from the Button to isolate short stack for bounty with Ace King o/s only to be called by the big Blinds pockets Queens.

    24.08.21. 14 of 126. Stone Bubble.
With 16 left sitting in about 12th and 13 paid i called the following shove form the cut off, sure its a call most of the time but given the stage of the tournament maybe i should have considered folding.

Good luck with the 7 at 7 challenge @coo1-um . It's also one of my worst-performing games, and I've persuaded myself to stay away from it for the time being.

RE the AQ hand, personally I'm almost always calling the all-in there. It's a hand that's simply too good to fold with your stack, especially as we cover the villain for a potential bounty. Can't be disappointed with getting your chips in flipping - if you don't win your flips, you won't win tournaments. Just unlucky, in my opinion.

One game right at the end of the week, brought me back into weekly profit, got quite lucky at times as i must have hit all in on the river at least 4 times, but i only remember the time it happened to me heads up. 18 heads helped to the cash return.

    'sub' challenge failing further.

3rd in the Excellent Midweek plo8 league brought a £5.50 token, will play more games in the almost equally excellent Micro Masters league this week.

    Slight loss on August.

just picked up the Micro Masters league for last week, it a competition thats well run and accessable for all, played 30 tournaments over 4 days, so you don't need to play all the games just a few good results, the bigger the field the more points on offer with the scoring system looks a little like this.

no limit tournaments seem to be going well at the moment so i have took the option of jumping straight into Tuesdays main as my prize, strike while the iron is hot.

I'm so pleased to see that you came out on top of the MML last week. I wish you well with your prize tonight.

Hopefully your recent good form can continue

with only Rewards freeroll games played on the 6th and the 8th, here is the update.

Free entry into the main was secured through the micro masters league, a competition thats well worth a try for all players.

Knock out hand in this, well i guess the age old question is "how do you play pocket Kings"

Pushed pocket 2's in the 7@7 when i know i should be folding.called by kings and the best hand won, no complaints but on the final table bubble really shouldn't be making that move.
A win in the £1.10 plo8 help add to the daily profit.

  • coo1-umcoo1-um Member Posts: 2,924
Daily reporting is hard, but its important if you want to keep on top of things especially finishing positions, whilst the my tables section stays on for two days and seems to be fully correct, the advanced results summary is clearly incorrect.

Rewards Freeroll or 7@7 was the question whilst playing on mobile.
Saving £7.70 opted for the freeroll and had totally forgotten about the first hand i played by the end.

    Cruising along nicely mate!

Watched some of the 6:30pm BH final table - very unlucky to finish 4th, could've been a win for you on another day. Still a good return from it.

Last Monday set the tone for the week when nothing hit, Sunday brought a little back with a few deepish runs and a few near misses.

Heads up in the £5.50 PLO8 BH with a 9 to 1 chip deficit against without doubt the best PLO8 player on Sky, Second place seemed like the best i could get and whilst i could well throw away a lead clawing it back is a different matter.

Lets see what this week brings, daily reporting is hard especially when the results dot go our way, though i guess thats when things really should be analysed.
