Jeremy Bamber was clearly a nasty piece of work. But I have always suspected that he was convicted due to that, and the fact that he looked a bit murder-y. There was next to no evidence pointing to his Guilt.
There was evidence that this was a murder/suicide by his adoptive sister, separate to this latest revelation. Evidence that was concealed from the Jury.
But it was necessary to succeed.
I just think that he had such a terrible attitude, which didnt endear him to the public, and must have made it more difficult for the jury.
I didnt realise it was quite that long ago.
I have watched a couple of documentaries, and the tv drama.
I cant remember all the details now, but as far as I remember the was some doubt over his sisters capability with a rifle, whether she was capable of killing the Father, her ability to reach the trigger when allegedly shooting herself, and the impossibility of hiding the silencer if she had shot herself.
Yes, he was smug, arrogant and seemingly duplicitous. However, if we locked up everybody displaying those traits there'd be few left.
