i played in the 6:45AM Freeroll Tournament this morning and i folded 2 starting hands that would of won. This has happened before to me and i am not good at dealing with it. it annoys and frustrates me and it sometimes effects the following hands that i play. i think that is called tilt in poker terms?

Did i make the right decision folding these 2 hands? and how do you deal with folding the winning hand?

When you folded them they were not winning hands-so it was right to fold them.

You dont look at what you could have won in that spot on that hand, Its how them hands would fair over thousands of flops over thousands of hands, and they would lose you far more than you could possibly win.

If you never folded them hands preflop and always saw a flop, you would find, that you lost much more money than you won over the year.

You can only post one hand per post.
If you wish to post 2 hands you have to do 2 posts.

the important thing is making decisions that will make you profit in the long run. no one is psychic if that were a thing we could have a different conversation but its not. I have had plenty of incidents where I folded and saw I would have won if I had not done so.

I also have had enough cases where I folded when I should not have done and I would have lost had I not.

Making the right decision > worrying about what we could have hit/flopped/won.

Just make the best decision in the moment will work out long term @EmmaEP and try and let things like a badbeat go in as little time as possible will make way for successful long term poker.

Keeping your emotions in check will also help and the more we practice these simple techniques in time they should improve and your ability to deal with them will get better the often you do the same things.

Insert some perspective - War is going on around the world. We just lost a hand of poker or folded the best hand.

Regain your focus. The better focused you are on the next hand helps u play your best poker

Mark hands and then look at them in post session analysis instead of at the time.

    Rinse and repeat...

Good luck out there and good luck in 2025 B)
