Hi, Can anyone please tell me. I have recently qualified for the UKOPS Main event but was wanting to try another satelitte to qualify for the High Roller event. What happens if I qualify for the Main event again? Thanks Posted by jackAherts
I don't believe the "mixed" SuperSats (High Roller & Main Event) are running any more, though I could be wrong on that There WILL, I'm quite sure, be High Roller Sats though.

Okay cheers Tikay, I will have a look through the lobby
After looking forward to UKOPS since it was announced, and trying to satellite into all the events (with some success) that i was able to play, and buying in the events i did not satellite into, i recently found out i am unable to play tonights event and saturdays event due to covering for someone at work.
I emailed Sky and they did change the saturdays £110 event so i can play in wednesdays £110 event, and i was very greatful.
I then unregistered for the omaha event UKOPS2, thinking this was one i'd bought in direct, it wasn't however, and my account was not refunded, fair enough. I emailed my PRIORITY contact and was told that they could not refund my £55 , and could not change this to another event. I then asked if i could be re-entered into the event, with the £55 buy -in i'd earned and they would not even re-enter me. So i'm now £55 out of pocket, and have to go to work, now i can't wait for UKOPS to be over, and i will never ever be satting into an event again, as sky seem reluctant to help me out when work or other things may prevent me from playing.
UKOPS1 huge success in terms of entrants, and the few quid Sky overlaid in the initial satellites was certainly repaid, and then some. Such a shame that Sky didn't seize the bull by the horns and commit properly to this event by putting it on TV live. First rule of marketing - never go at anything half-heartedly. Posted by Eyeman
Astounding.
A live show every night really would add nothing. If anything it would saturate the series meaning by the time we get to the main everyone would be sick to the back teeth of it. SkyPoker's unique selling point is the TV and now the community but they don't want to overly focus purely on the TV channel. It's starting to become a major player in the UK based market and the UKOPS is a further attempt to push on further, rather than being 'that site with the TV channel.' There is no business case to have a nightly live show. There could also be pre records for some of the non-live events.
Half-heartedly? Have you seen the amount of overlay they threw at this series in the from of satellites to get some buzz going. They were burning money the first week to kick start it. We got a ton of extra value, there was a ton of advertising online and on the channel and you see this as half hearted? Seriously, the big picture must be a dot to you. (N.B. That last line was stolen from Friends)
I just managed to hang onto getting into the 10k omaha for 2 quid something, in a satellite with lots of extra value. Delighted when I squeezed into the money. Even more delighted when made final table, without rebuys or top-ups, as out of my financial league. Till now, anyway. I'm a noob at Omaha, love it though I do. The biggest win of my life, and I am now a winning poker player at sky poker, by a couple of grand give ot take a bit, I should think. So happy! So drained! Chuffed to bits for you, David, & enjoyed sharing a Table with you.
Bet you feel even more proud this morning, basking in the glow. And so you should.
Congrats Sir, many congrats.
UKOPS1 & UKOPS2 have both gone to "regular guys". What's not to like?

Back to UKOPS for me tonight. Cashed in Monday's, couldn't play last night as I had a pool game (Played like an absolute demon I must add, played 3 games and 8balled my opponent twice) Now for a long old haul in the doublestack.

Firstly, before i stick my head on the chopping block i'm gunna say that Tikay, you sir are amazing. Love the stuff you do on 865 and for SkyPoker in general and fingers crossed i get to meet you one day.
About the UKOPS coverage/commitment/expenditure etc. Whilst i think it's hard for anyone to disagree that it costs a bunch of money to air a live show, the rake taken from the UKOPS tourneys themselves would more than cover it surely? I work it out to be about £4400 worth of rake taken in just the bounty hunter tournaments alone, so even if it was some sort of internet only stream from your living room where you discuss what's going on :P (obviously i'm in jest here but i think the point still has some merit). With such a loyal fanbase that SkyPoker has, and the community that's been built up around it, to hype up the UKOPS and then show all these satellites on TV, but not the actual events themselves seems... not unfair, just a little unbalanced. I'm also gunna chip in and say whilst i'm not questioning the behind the scenes of SkyPoker at all, i'm sceptical that such a big emphasis can be put on the work ethic of those that produced UKOPS. There were no bracelets given out, the tournies were pretty similar to weekly ones on Sky despite a few little changes in starting stacks and blind levels, along with no form of coverage of the events themselves or an opportunity for people to switch tickets between events. I LOVE SkyPoker, and i'm only saying all this because i truly believe that this UKOPS thing has legs. It's just at the moment they are prosthetic, and squeeking a little bit :P
TommyD - For someone to say that too much coverage over a 1 week period of 7/8 events is absolute crazy imo. All you have to do is look at PokerStars to see that coverage = WIN. The WCOOP and SCOOP had over 50 events each and they each had their own live-streams, radio shows etc and it was a MASSIVE success. Too much coverage /> too little, and i'm sure most of the people on Sky would say one of the best things about playing on the site is to see themselves on TV!
Cliffs: 1) TK, i love you, and Sky Poker. 2) UKOPS has the potential to be HUGE, instead of a something that people are gunna forget about in a week or two. 3) Coverage = GOOD. If you think you'd get worn out from only 7/8 events worth of coverage, i doubt you're a poker fan at heart. Bigger the better baby!
Much love to y'all and run good out there people. Cheers, Carlos Smitalos P.S. This is NOT supposed to be a "this is wrong, that is wrong, fix it". I'm just pointing stuff out that people can agree/disagree with. It's all just my opinion and if people wanna come on here and tell me i'm wrong that's cool!
so 4.4k in rake is supposed to cover presenter/analysts/guest/2 cameramen/runner/sound guy/graphics guy/director/producer/makeup and probably 1-2 other people who I've forgotten for about 8 hours to do the live show
not taking into account the massive overlay that sky got done for in the first week of sats
plus they get taxed on all rake
plus all the expenses of all the UKOPS stuff like the site graphics/leaflets at SPT/producing promo videos.

Must run better
Thanx for all of the support guys, much appreciated
Really enjoyed taking that one down, as you can imagine
Roll on the rest of the Series
