Ok, missed the show but would like to know the ins and outs of this please. Is it just for the high BR players who can just choose if THEY want to play or not or is it really open to all?? I fully appreciate Sky Poker introducing new schemes but feel, yet again, that this promotion is geared towards the high rollers. I know, and expect, a load of negative response to this post, but as a prominent campaigner for the smaller BR player, I would like to know if this is really 'across the board' for ALL players or just another cunningly disguised thank you from Sky Poker to all their 'bigger' players?

Think this is great, I didn't watch all of the programme last night, so they might have talked about promotion of it, but I'm assuming that to not have overlays there is going to be quite heavy promotion outside of Sky Poker.

I know Tikay contributes on 2+2 with regard to Sky and there is social media stuff, but would be interesting to know how else it will be promoted.

Maybe promotion will also be done with regard to upgrades that have been mentioned a lot on here. Timebanks, synched breaks, stt sats, late registration and the rest! You never know!

With all the 'happenings' in the poker world of late this seems to be a good initiative from Sky. This will bring in players from other sites and hopefully give a growth spurt to the site. That will be good for all players and will eventually result in more choice of games for all.

I think the key to the success of this will be how the satellites are arranged. With enough opportunities for the smaller bankroll players to get a taste of some high stakes mtt's this is an opportunity for everyone.

Nice one Sky, I wish it every success.

yeah i second that, and Maxally all i will say is what about the players that want to play the higher stakes games?

i might add it would be nice that if you actually won a tournment, you could have a Hoodie or Jacket with UKOPS champion,as a prize..because as a lot of us go to live events....

Big +  hope it all goes well..

I can see it now my poor bankroll being eaten up by satellites!

going to try and focus on the £100 F.O and with some luck the £200ME.

Hopefully sky will do some sort of £55 tourn ticket Sats so you can guy into any event you want with multiple tickets, i.e 4* £55 for the ME etc. Will help with numbers aswell as you can win a seat into all the events from 1 Satellite

By the way, we really love the idea of a UKOPS leaderboard and will look at doing one.

Thank you for your support on this, we can't wait for it!

i think its a great way to promote the uk game. i don't believe sky does it to reward their high rollers, they are only a small part of the business. you can compare sky to the government in some ways it is far more profitable to take a penny in tax off the majority then a pound off the rich. small br players are the bread and butter for sky and always will be, so called high rollers, and names are just the icing on the cake that help to promote the business.at the end of the day the most important customers are the nameless majority who give over their £1 for hours of fun

Really looking forward to this, really hope i can qualify for a few especially the ME and the high roller(dreaming)

I think this is fantastic news for sky, it will no doubt bring in 1000's of new players IMO. Bigger gtd's aswell just make me wanna play them all and bink :D

Alan/Maxally i do disagree sky do soo much things for the Micros/small players , im half included in this as i flutter between the 2 :) I have no doubt there will be various price range satelites for us smaller players it maybe tough but still its a way in.

again looking forward to it GG sky :)

This is a good idea and very happy to see more tournaments catered to the higher buyin players. Please announce a schedule though!

An online leaderboard would be essential for something like this me thinks, would be good for Sky too as will ensure more traffic.

    Exciting :D

I thought I would get the normal reaction from the normal few against me saying anything on here and you have not disappointed me.

For the record, I actually think this is a great idea and a good move forward by Sky Poker. There is many times I hear  that a prominent player on here has won a bigger Tournament elsewhere on line, so I knew Sky would have to up their games soon.

Yes, I hope that there are plenty of Satellites available into these bigger games (SnG ones perhaps Sky Adam?) as everyone would love a go at these, I would imagine. Some of the 'smaller' BR players have held their own and done well in the Rollers just of late and long may it continue.

Exciting stuff, looking forward to this. Gets a big thumbs up from me. Direct buy-ins are beyond my bankroll but I'll defo be trying my luck in some sats.

As suggested by others a series leader board perhaps with prizes and some sort of physical prize other than just the cash and the title for the event winners would be good enhancements.

In Response to UKOPS - The Thread:
Good morning! Last night, Sky Poker announced it's inaugural "United Kingdom Online Poker Series", to be known as "UKOPS". A series of Online Poker Tourneys, it takes place between Monday October 31st & Sunday November 6th, 2011, immediately after SPT Leg One. Buy-ins range from £22 to £530, Clocks from 5 mins to 15 mins, starting chips from 3,000 to 10,000, with a total Guarantee Value of £140,000. It includes NLH Freezeouts, Turbo Rebuys, DoubleStacks, an Omaha Rebuy, a High-Roller, & a Main Event. A satellite schedule will be announced very shortly.  Any questions, fire away, & someone from Sky Poker will field them if I am not around. The Thread will also be used to keep abreast of who qualifies in the Daily Super Satellites, registered runners for each Event, & this, that, & even the other. In other words, all things UKOPS related. I'll be offline now until Sunday evening or even Monday, but any questions, stick them on this Thread please. Thanks!

Excellent news on the series. BUT if your looking to recruit from other poker sites which you obviously are as i would not like to start a list of 50 peeps on here prepared to put up £500 you need to look at the scheduling and rest break situation. Your hoping to attract other medium rollers from say stars ex ft and others into your sattelites for a crack at the big prizes you have on offer you need to accomodate the games that they are playing elsewhere. It has been said before and will be again 55 mins past the hour its an industry standard.

Having said all this good luck to anyone playing in these monster events and bad luck to anybody sattelitting in when i'm in the running :) will be an awsome week of poker either to observe or play in.

Sort of reminds me of FT series only on a much smaller scale but still a great step up for sky.

Oh one more thing get this info onto a proper internet page not forum with fb twitter etc tags so those of us who have poker friends can refer them to one page with all the info.
