Ok, missed the show but would like to know the ins and outs of this please. Is it just for the high BR players who can just choose if THEY want to play or not or is it really open to all?? I fully appreciate Sky Poker introducing new schemes but feel, yet again, that this promotion is geared towards the high rollers. I know, and expect, a load of negative response to this post, but as a prominent campaigner for the smaller BR player, I would like to know if this is really 'across the board' for ALL players or just another cunningly disguised thank you from Sky Poker to all their 'bigger' players? Hi Guys - just to reassure everyone, we will be running satellites to these events to suit all pockets. There will also be some added extras which we will give the details on soon. Tikay will naturally claim all the ideas were his! Thanks Sky Poker Team Posted by Sky_Poker
Good morning! Last night, Sky Poker announced it's inaugural "United Kingdom Online Poker Series", to be known as "UKOPS". A series of Online Poker Tourneys, it takes place between Monday October 31st & Sunday November 6th, 2011, immediately after SPT Leg One. Buy-ins range from £22 to £530, Clocks from 5 mins to 15 mins, starting chips from 3,000 to 10,000, with a total Guarantee Value of £140,000. It includes NLH Freezeouts, Turbo Rebuys, DoubleStacks, an Omaha Rebuy, a High-Roller, & a Main Event. A satellite schedule will be announced very shortly. Any questions, fire away, & someone from Sky Poker will field them if I am not around. The Thread will also be used to keep abreast of who qualifies in the Daily Super Satellites, registered runners for each Event, & this, that, & even the other. In other words, all things UKOPS related. I'll be offline now until Sunday evening or even Monday, but any questions, stick them on this Thread please. Thanks! Posted by Tikay10
Sounds great and I'm looking forward to it. I might buy into 1 or 2 direct but will have to satelite for the majority.
Love the idea of the leaderboard, as soon as it was announced I thought the same!
Don't think the "Mini UKOPS" will work, like others have said, the high roller event would still be £50 with most events £20. There are mini opens and mini rollers, I think this would be best left as it is.
theres no point in a mini UKOPS imo it will affect numbers for the main. which sky cant afford to happen with the guarantees. if its a success and the numbers are there they would probably look at it for the future.

^^^ this
plus there are going to be tonnes of satellites for every one of the UKOPS events so i do not really see the problem as people are still going to be able to satellite in for a small amount compared to actual buy ins
even if there was a mini ukops people will still not be happy that the £530 buy in is £53 etc
i don't have the bankroll to buy in direct to every event but i will still be attemptin satellites for every tournament as then you are basically playing the tournament as if it is a 'micro tournament' as you are in for such a little amount

hi all
i agree great promotion for all players old and new to the site
with the sats i think all bankrolls have been thought off
very exciting time ahead for all
just a question
why have 2 tournies november the 5th
poss one of the biggest nights out of the year
and with the lower buy in of one off them its open to all
just a thought i know its to late to change but maybe could be tweaked around such a big night out for families
thanks for the great promotion
You could then have a play-off between the winners of each thread to see if the mini players could take on the big guys.
n Response to UKOPS - The Thread:
great for everyone. brilliant.
one suggestion might be to offer the winners of each game an invite to a UKOPS Cash Game.
