Well my session has got off to a flying start tonight... The way I managed to get back to not far off even last night was by winning my last 4 games in a row. Well I got that up to 9 in a row with the start of my session tonight. Sadly I lost number 10 but 9 is my new record for DYMs in a row and its still great to win 5 out of 6 so far.

I'll do a proper update at the end of the session.

    Evening All,

That's what I like to see, a nice winning session to get me right back on track straight after my small losing session. So tonight I played 15, won 11 so the totals now are...

    Played          254
    Won             149
    Profit/Loss    +£93.80
    Win Rate       58.66%

Another really good session. Almost made it to the £100 profit mark (well I've crossed it if you include C4P) so yeah really happy with how this challenge is going at the moment. So when I get my C4P I will be rolled for £11 games but as I said, I'll be waiting til 1st November before I go onto them.

    Poker Points   = 1209
    League Points = 1022

Yeah it was really nice. It's always nice to get a mention on the channel and some of the things Tikay said, I thought were really nice. I plan to have a 4 figure bankroll by Christmas and if I manage that, I definitely want another mention on 865

How many buy ins do you require for each level ?
Are you playing £5 level ?
Started playing the £2.20 games and find them fairly straighforward to play and just put a 9 win run together.
I am finding them great for C4P plus the money is always a bonus )
How many games should you play at a level to see if you crush the level before you move up ? 500 ?

Well I dunno if I'm the best guy to ask but Poker_Fail and JC do pop in this thread so they might answer better but I'll give it a go...

I'm sticking to JC's BRM rules of needing 22 buy-ins. So I'm playing £5.50 now, the next level is £11 so I need £242 to move up, that gives me 2 games to hopefully win and get off to a good start and hopefully never look back. If I lose both and go back to only 20 BIs, go back to £5.50s and get it up to 22BIs again.

Apparently the standard doesn't change hugely anything up to £11 really. Say you start with £150 to play £5.50s (like I did), it's took me about 250 games to build up enough to be rolled for the next level which I think is enough to know I'm consistently winning and it's not just positive variance and as I said, apparently £11 DYMs aren't much different anyway, so if I beat £5.50s, I'll beat £11s.

Yeah C4P is nice, and I'm aiming to get in the freeroll for entry into TSP at the end of this quarter.

    Cheers Lambert -
I am using the avoidance strategy and it's working fine btw, I just don't play unless I have 7 big blinds or a monster ) Whatever comes first.
It's amazing how many bad players there are playing DYM's that have no clue.
I was on this table, bubble time. One player had 200 chips after he posted the bb and I kid you not the player UTG limps !!!!!

    WOWZA

What were the blinds? If Big say 600/300 i don't think a limp is bad you min raise  makes it 1200 and if everybody calls (which is what you want) 3 v's 1 there will be a side pot that can cause problems.Everyone limps 600 shorty shoves last 200 in everyone calls no side pot and if everyone checks(sum will not 2nd pair is the nuts lol) it down 3 v's 1 for the least out lay.You need a dym mind set not a sit and go one.

As Lambert said, I think JCs 22 buyin guide is a really good way to rise through the levels, there's really no risk as if you don't start well at the next buyin you drop back down to a level you know you can beat as you have done before.

An away is a different matter. As long as i have enough chips to see him out i would fold aces utg and just let the sb take it down no point risking cashing over ego.

    Yeah seems a ok )
Do you agree with Lambert that the game doesn't change the way it's played till over £11 ?
To be honest without sounding like a know it all and I do realise I have a very little sample size but I am finding the £2 games very easy 2 play.

I think they're a bit harder than the £5.50s, but you can still find soft games if you avoid regs, do you have sharkscope?

Yeah you will get some idiots.

I was playing a game last night, down to 4, the short stack goes all in pre with like 1-2BBs (can't remember exactly), I just flat call even though I have AA cos I want others to call and increase the chance of cashing, big stack calls. The flop comes something like K49 rainbow and the big stack just shoves into me lol. I think he's an idiot cos I'm almost certainly beating him and beating the short stack, I call cos I know even if I don't beat him, as long as the short stack doesn't win, I still cash cos I had more chips at the start of the hand.

When I call, big stack turns over something ridiculous like 68off lol! I win the hand and cash :)

I'm not saying you need it, but it can be usefull to get a good start when rising through the levels.
