hi guys ive been back for a week since a break .with a 800 pound bank roll what is the best stake to be playing mtts .also what limit on cash tables many thanks ...

    Play the high roller tonight imo  If you don't bink it stick to £5/£10 cash

    I am a low stakes player and I'm confused. When poker "experts" say you should only risk 2-5% of your bankroll at any one time do they actually mean this? I have deposited a few times and gone broke a few times but each time I have only deposited £25. I then play the DTD events and have managed to build my bankroll to £150 over the last month or so by playing mainly £2-£3 entry fees and a few satellites. Risking 10-15% of your BR on one event or one buy-in at a cash table seems to conflict with most peoples advice but I am no expert.

    Am I doing things the right way or am i being a bit too cautious?

    lol. yes!!!

    If you've build 25 quid up to 150+ a few times and then ended back at zero, you're probably not being cautious enough!!

    Hi mate , if ure bankroll is £800 its gonna depend on what level ure gonna be 'comfortable' playing , for instance ure rolled ok to play 15/30 cash level but depending on how gd you feel ure game is then you may feel that 5/10 or 10/20 is better for ya.

    If ya decide that 15/30 is ok then set aside 20 buy-ins = £600 and use the other £200 for mtt's sticking to buy-ins of £5-£10

    If ure a decentish player then you should be able to build on this as ure cash play profits can help to fund bigger mtt's or sats into these bigger games.

    To answer the OP, I would play mtts up to 22 quid (the open)- but i would try to sat in obv,

    ....and cash up to 20/30nl

    I dont believe in any 5% rule btw, if you are recreational player, play with what u can afford to lose and have fun!!

    How is it straightforward when someone says "YES" and "NO"? Please read his reply and see if it makes sense. It doesn't matter to me if someone gives me advice I don't like, unlike a large number of better known players on this site I don't need my ego polished, I appreciate constructive advice from players who obviously know the game better than me and are willing to help me to learn all aspects of the game

    if u are losing £150 quickly u must have lost alot of £2 games or u are not sticking to your own rules.and if u get the hump by someones correct answer and then decide you are right anyway.i wouldnt even bother asking! if u want my opinion i would say 10% is way to much if u are a losing player. your bank roll will not last very long y not try 2% which would give u about 50 games for your money and u would be able to allow for the variance of winning and losing without going broke. try reading john connors post or someone elses it will give u a good idea on managing your bank roll etc.
