1 minute blind satellites - Avoid?

The MTT satellites with 1 minute blinds tend to have a cheap buy-in, but only something like 1 in every 20 or 25 players usually end up getting a seat into the tournament. With the blinds going up so quickly, I'm basically wondering if there's any skill involved in them, or whether I might as well be sticking my entire bankroll on the Russian Roulette tables?

Yeah avoid them, they are absolutely bonkers! Need a lot of luck to progress in these.

Stick to the regular satellites which are fast enough!

There's no skill at all, especially with the rebuys.

They're fun and can be a cheap way to qualify for a big buyin tourny though.

I wouldnt say there is absolutely no skill but this is definitely high variance. If you think you have an edge on most players then stay away from these and play a slower structure where your edge can be used to a greater effect.

These are perfect for beginners or lesser players to have a shot at a higher level.

Nothing wrong with them imo - Choose your hands and position carefully and its a cheap way of getting into a tourny. It don't work everytime so you need to keep evaluating every re-buy.

I managed to satelite into a £110 ukops for £22.00 - now thats value.

Just make sure you know when its time to knock the re-buys on the head.

I have developed a way of playing these that has been successful in the short term.  Think about what you need to do and stick to the plan.  Yesterday I got into the £33bh for £1.90, so without even one rebuy.  Got into the £110 entry roller with 4 rebuys at £2.40 so £12 in total, and cashed in 5th for £576. How good is that? 

The important thing is to have a plan, stick to it, and stay aware of the other chipstacks etc.

Made the £22 entry super BH via a frenzy for £1.25 - no rebuy!  So a £22 seat for £1.25.  Frenzy is me.
