I recently played a live game and think im very good on % calls ie if im 40% i may play hand etc etc,But this woman on table knew every odds it was pure magic,Does anyone else think there good at knowing percentages pre and after flop?
This lady was like a maths book but she departed after her AA pre lost to big stack with 22 she said 80/20 i thought it was 70/30 but didnt argue.

I know the most common percentages like having 4 to a flush and know what the chances are of hitting it with 1 card to come or with 2 cards to come, same again with gut shots and open ended straights.
Well most things really but sometimes online it can take me more than the 10 secs you get to figure it out and make a decision when you're multi-tabling
Eg flush draw is normally 9 outs, therefore if for example you hold two clubs and two clubs are on the flop the percentage chance of you hitting your flush is 36% on turn and 18% on the river. You can work out these percentages to figure out if it is an optimal play to call a bet. Off course you also have to take into account implied odds but thats where poker starts to get more technical.
The 4/1 situation for an overpair is easy to remember and next time your all in with an underpair you know your crushed a large proportion of the time !
Should be a core part of your game. Makes all your decisions easy...or easier.
Only problem becomes you just know how bad the bad beat was lol, to the decimal point
most of the stuff to do with direct odds of winning hand can be learned off pretty easily. Learn these if you want to do well, then worry about more complex stuff
