Why do we get moved around after big pots?

Whats the philosophy when moving people off of tables? I understand tables need to be balanced but its really frustrating when you have a bad beat by someone and then they or you are moved straight after? You dont even get the oppurtunity to win your chips back this is something that should be looked into. It'd save me alot of angry threads aswell lol thanks.

The skypoker player table shuffle is not only programmed to balance the tables in terms of numbers, it also ''balances'' the tables in terms of chip stacks, this is the reason that shuffles sometimes occur even when no players are knocked out. This has been discussed before and people can actually calculate who will be moved before the actual move takes place as their is a formula that the programme uses, and the shuffle is NOT random no matter who tells you otherwise.

So how come in nearly every tounrey I play, the 3 biggest chipstacks are on the same table?

If there is a formula... it sucks!

I'd guess it's because the theory is that the big stacks can all play a reasonable game against each other and the smaller stacks can all play a reasonable game against each other but they probably want to avoid 1 guy having 90k and the other 5 have 8k.

I know it's a bit annoying but I'm sure it used to happen on FullTilt too because I remember someone on there saying to me that you gotta get a double up early on in the big tourneys otherwise you'll be missing out on playing against the big stacks and youll struggle to build up a big stack playing against loads of short stacks. I'm not saying that's true but it's what some guy said.

I dunno about you but I don't like being moved to a table where everyone has me covered by about 8 to 1 and I get half a dozen callers to my AK shove which means I get knocked out cos its a big family pot and someone hits bgiger than me.

    It's completely random ya plonkers.

    That is INCORRECT.

I'm not going to get into a debate about it, but people sometimes believe Posts like that, & that's dangerous.

There is nothing "to be looked into" Sir. It's how poker works the world over, Live & Online.

Poker is not always a fair game, but it's swings & roundabouts. You know, sometimes it works against us, sometimes it works for us. It behoves us to remember BOTH, & that we can't have our cake & eat it.

Do you REALLY expect the rules of poker to take into account the fact you've just lost (or won.....) a pot to a table-companion? Be a neat bit of software, that.

Do 3 of the biggest stacks sometimes end up on the same table? Yes.

Does a big stack sometimes end up being moved to a table full of Med and small stacks? Yes.

When you take a bad beat do you sometimes get moved? Yes.

If you dominating a table do you sometimes get moved to a table with someone that seems to get the better of you the most of the time. Yes

    Etc, Etc.

IMO that is because it is Random.

Also, one thing I did mean to say when I first replied is that, you should take your ego away from the table. Just because you lost a big pot against someone (bad beat or not) does not mean you need to win a big pot back agasint him... just play the hands that come to you the best you can.

Is it random that the 'software' here on Sky incorrectly (IMO) moves you AFTER you have just been on the button on one table onto a table where you are/or will be next hand, one of the blinds? In live poker, in most venues at least, is it not the player coming up to his BB to move NOT the button?

This has been brought up on numerous occasions before.

As for the OP, this is random.

in my experiance live and online people are moved by random to balance the tables. When i was TD'ing a computer told me who to move. It only knew who was knocked out, starting stacks and average stack. On 3 occassions i had a table with all the big stacks and a table with all the little stacks.

    Happpens.
