In Response to Re: DYM disaster : If you win 60% of games, it takes ten games to win a fiver, is it worth the bother? Posted by oynutter
Well a game will take around 30 mins and you can play 4-6 no probs, so thats 8-12 games per hour (give or take) so it's an alright win-rate and you can rack up some pretty decent C4P.
JC seems to make a decent amount from DYMs alone. The only thing I would say is they can be very swongy... like the OP's situation, it's not that unlikely you might lose 11 in a row, so £60.50 at the level I played which can really hurt your confidence if you're not focused/disciplined.
Hmmmm, yeh, thanks Lambert, that might be part of the reason I gave them up, even six in a row would do my head in----lol--- and I can only two table because I hate mini view. I have tried it a few times, but it takes so long to recover from a bad run, and there is definitely too much luck involved with 5 min blinds
maybe it is something that could be suggested DYM deep stack could work. the game would last 1.5 hours at least though i do agree with the rake being to high on them makes them very difficult but you do only need to win 55% of the time to be a winning player surely its do able Posted by wenelinho
11 losses in a row sounds a lot, not sure wot my worst is...prob about 8ish...wait a minute...8!!! Gawd that musta hurt...IRISH! Wot's me woorst DYM run?
Anyways, always have A 8, be the short stack on the bubble, shove any hand, call with any hand, if you only have 3 BB's and sum1 has 4BB's fold....even if it leaves u wiv 0.78 BB's (but no lower mind), unless the short stck shoves...thn u shud dwell fold...or cry............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

You would need to win a lot more than 55% of the time to actually win money mate!-- The rake is well over 10% at low stakes innit. If you win 55% of games, you lose money. Posted by oynutter
I've only just been back at DYM's this month after a very long break and I did a fare bit straight away going from £50 down to like £34 and that's pretty sickening but through patience and hard work I built it back and am now close to being stable at £3.30.
11 in a row is pretty horrendous and tbh I'd think about posting a few of your exit hands on the clinic to perhaps see if you're shoving at the wrong time or just playing hands sub-optimally.

Your worst run over 2,222 games is losing 8 in a row on 1 occcasion, if you ignore that, it's down to 5 in a row.
Which when you consider you've had 23 streaks above 8 wins in a row is pretty impressive!

i know its bad but im pretty sure that in 8 of them i did the correct shove, possibly i could of folded a couple of my QQ hands but in the most case im the aggressor i do the shoving and then got called by some1 who has the next pair up from mine. i really dont think im an 11 in a row losing player material not to say that i dont need to improve i do. Maybe posting my exit hands is a good idea though maybe just to get feedback

Yeah like I said above, post them and sometimes even if you played it perfect, it's nice to hear some of the regulars say 'well played, you got unlucky'. People say a big part of poker is confidence and if you start doubting good play because of negative variance, it can lead to a world of pain... (slightly OTT lol)
I will raise to 15 and it hurt even more as it was part of a real bad run of about 3 wins to 29 loses.About 10 or so of the 15 were on the bubble aces cracked aipf 4 times twice by ak(4 flush and trips). My on fault really for messing about trying to play 500 micro dym's in a month.
Since reading JC's guide about 3 weeks ago, iv played around 70 DYM's mixing between £2.25 and £3.30 and have just under a 70% win rate, making around £30 profit. very slow going, but i'm making a profit all the same. losing 4 in a row is my worst so far

Cheers DOHHHHHHH, I go through phases where I can't even look at a DYM, but thanks to them I've only had to deposit £35 since I started playing on Sky (over 5 years ago).
2000 games and biggest loosing streak is 8 in a row FUDGIN ****. ive dropped down a level to the £3.30 just to not destroy my bankroll. Was thinking about posting all my exit hands on this thread see what people think of the way i play the hands, also im going to pick myself up a notepad and record every game i play my profit/loss and exit hands so i can always look back at them. If im going to do this DYM thing im gonna do it right haha
Once again i push with kk from the D BB calls and he has AA surprise surprise. This kinda thing is how i went 11 in a row and i know it happens but it seems to happen a awful lot what you guys think
wow 10 in a row in a day done a good job getting into the green for the day. they are a complete grind these things and to be honest the only reason im playing is for the reasons i put in my first post not to say i dont enjoy them but i just prefer a good old fashioned 10 seat sng wer the top 3 get paid not very popular on here though.
on a different note what are you using to record all of your results that way?

Oh dear...
From my experience the swings in dyms can be insane.

Below is my graph for dyms today, losing 9 out of my first 10 games. Managed to get my head back above water by the end though.
