Sky Des used to listen, sky Rich used to listen, Sky bernie used to listen, jeeezuzzz, even sky rudolf listened once, now we got no-one! They could at least pretend, I think they are too embarrassed to show their faces because nobody can figure out how to re-size the tables!! Posted by oynutter
Morning Mr Nutter, good to see you back on form.
They STILL listen, believe me. They do. Yes, Des often used to reply, but in those days, the Site was only one third the size it is now. It's just not possible to reply to evey question that comes in - but that does not equate to not reading them.
Re-sizeable Tables? Those who attended SPT Newcastle may have seen a "test" version of them which Adam was demonstrating. There has been extraordinary progress recently with the Site Enhancements, but it's not possible to do 5 years catch up overnight. I'm not going to give a date so that the knockers can beat me to a pulp if it runs late, but Sky Poker now know the EXACT date upon which resizeable Tables plan to be launched.
Community Suggestions is not used optimally by Sky imo and neer has been> I hope that they will realise that we are all cynical about that section of the forum and make some effort to show that they actually do read it!. All reasonable threads there should get an acknowledgment by sky at least! There is 100000000000% more chance of Feedback and action if the thread stays in GPC. This has been demonstrated before. Morning Greg.
That's a somewhat harsh tone, if I may say so.
How do you know it has never been optimally used? Do you have a spy in the office?
And "everyone is cynical" about that section of the Forum? How very sad, cynical is right up there with sarcasm. It's pretty easy to stand & point fingers, Greg, talking is cheap.
I truly believe that NO poker site cares, & looks after it's Clients, as well as Sky Poker. But you know how it is, you can never engage in a war of words with cynics or sarcastic people, life's too short.
Honestly, it amazes me that Sky Poker continue to run this Forum at times. They love feedback, comments, suggestions, but all this cynicism, sarcasm, how do you expect them to handle that - respond in kind? Can you imagine the hoohah if they replied in kind?!
I regularly get abused on here, so be it, but the first time I returned fire, I'd be mullered, & you know it, you guys can stick it in our eye, but we can't respond in kind. Pretty low, I'd say.
I wish you well, Greg, but "all reasonable threads should get a response". Eh? I'm sorry, but it ain't ever gonna happen. However, ALL threads are read.
Good morning Gentlemen, & in particular 67bhoys. I'm sorrry you think that "Community Suggestion" is not read by the Suits, simply because they do not respond. That is an incorrect assumption. ALL Threads are perused. I'm afraid, however, it is NOT possible to respond to every suggestion, much as they are welcomed. Often - usually in fact - suggestions come in which totally contradict each other, & they would have to employ someone full-time to answer them all. That is just not do-able, no Poker Site could EVER respond to every question & suggestion. Sky Poker have a LOT of Clients - a long way into 5 figures - & suggestions flood in from every direction, via various mediums - here, Customer care, Facebook, Twitter via e-Mail, PM, da de da. Sky Poker set this Forum up so we could all have a little fun as we play our poker, but of late, more & more people are using it to knock the Company. If you have a complaint, the route is Customer Care, if you have a suggestion, the right Board is appropriate. There is another route, too - "Ask tikay". I sometimes get a week or so behind, but I respond to EVERY question in there, & always have done. (Leave aside the nonsense bad-beats & those dripping with sarcasm). The "Community Suggestions" Thread IS read, every single day, by the Suits. It is, end of. It's pretty easy to stand there & criticise, but try wearing their shoes.......they would need to employ someone full-time if they were to be obliged to respond to every question. Imagine the cost, including overheads, of employing someone to do that. What, £30k pa? £40k pa? Instead, that money is allocated to the Promotional Budget. Where would you prefer it spent? I hope that makes some sense. PS - I'll try my best to respond to your questions as & when I can - you know that - but I will not be replying to rude,or sarcastic Posts, nor will I respond to trolling. Posted by Tikay10
Firstly thank you for your response Tikay.
My main point about the community suggestions is that the footfall there is very low. I don't know why, but to get opinions on ideas, and get a reasonable number to debate points, you have to post in General Poker chat. It is therefore frustrating that as soon as you get a good debate going on an idea, it is moved, and you know for definite that it will wither in the backwater that is community suggestions.
It is reassuring to know that the suits do read the suggestions, but surely it would be better if more players had taken the original idea and develped their own take on it, the more input the better. This happens in General Poker Chat, but for whatever reason does not in community suggestions.
So without further ado I'll wish you a Merry(dare I say it)........

Thanks Mr Celtic supporter!
It seems to boil down to the perception, maliciously put about, I would dare to suggest, that when stuff is moved to other Boards, such as "The Shed", or "Community Suggestions", it is being somehow relegated, or demeaned. It is not - it is just normal Forum husbandry. A Forum is a bit like a plant, it has a main stem (usually GPC), & then, IF it is growing healthily, lots of side-shoots, which in themself grow, & produce other stems & shoots.
The fact is, if everything were left in GPC, Topics would disappear into P2 or P3 before people could read them, then the thing just dies. Like the overloaded plant stem.
Have you ever visited the world's greatest Poker Forum? It's called 2+2, & has, I think, 130 (One hundred & thirty) different Boards, & woe betide anyone who Posts on the incorrect Board - it gets snap moved or deleted, no explanation!
I have an interest in a Poker Forum elsewhere, too, one of the UK's biggest. It so far has 17 (seventeen) different Boards, & we HAVE to split it up that way, it's how any decent Forum is run, otherwise, the whole thing becomes a right mess, & nobody can find anything.
So, poker chat goes here, suggestions there, jokes somewhere else, strategy somewhere else, & so on. It is the ONLY way to run a Forum, & every half-decent Forum on earth does it the same, but nobody complains about threads being "relegated", because that's just illogical. Someone (not you) has previously & maliciously suggested that when Sky Poker do it, it is "relegating" the subject matter, or demeaning to the OP, &, sorry to say, people have bought that nonsense. And it IS nonsense. To run a Forum properly, there have to be Boards, & Sub-Boards, if not, chaos reigns, it chokes itself, & dies.
Forums are what people make them. If everyone says "I'm not Posting anywhere except GPC", then they'll get the Forum they deserve - a bad one.
There's one golden rule with Forums - they are what the Members make them. If they don't use it properly, if they troll, if they abuse people, or refuse to accept the logic of Forum Boards, then they will get the Forum they deserve - a bad one. We get out of a Forum precisely what we - the Members - put into it.
I dont want the tables resized.. leave them alone.. Trolling?? I would rather think of myself as patrolling, All change is bad, Bring back the horse an cart. Posted by NODEAL
You won't HAVE to resize them - you'll have a choice. It's that "choice" thing again, ugh.....

Yey, It might have sounded, And I wouldnt have blamed anyone for not thinking I was serious when I said leave them alone, but, I at most play only two tables on account of lazyness and general opting for quality of life over muns an poker. And really do hate change, Skypoker is the bestest besty best.
Ok thats that sorted, get back to you if I need anything else.

Hi tikay,
Thanks for replying. I realise that Sky are different from alot of other sites which is exactly why i remain a loyal customer... I fully appreciate the interaction here is a bit special and i do not take it for granted, i promise. I would hate for you to think that I am cynical about sky pokers intentions and actions. I'm not, or i wouldn't still be here!
On this issue, It's a perception thing, and my comments were not based on any particular fact or inside reconnaissance work in sky towers, just my feeling that it "would be nice" if threads in the community suggestion section were acknowledged as oynutter says he was promised. Just a 10 second comment from a sky poker member of staff "Thank you for your post we hae noted your comments". Alternatively perhaps just a simple note on the heading of the community suggestion saying "we read your comments daily but we cannot reply to all threads"
You hae now assured me that the threads in that section are read daily by sky staff and that has clarified it for me and im happy with that! I hope you will accept that my comments are meant to be contructie. I was totally wrong to suggest all are cynical about that section, and that sky dont use it optimally, so i apologise for that and for my tone. I can be direct sometimes and i was showing support for 67bhoys because i understood where he was coming from on this particular issue. I wish i thought properly before i posted sometimes!
Well I think Tikay has shown everyone up here (no offence to people who posted). While he may not have replied 'in kind', in a much more mature way he certainly showed us forum folk to be a bunch of moaners and people who don't appreciate what we have.
I've played on a number of other sites (as I'm sure most of you have) and I've yet to find a single site (other than Sky) who give the slightest toss about any opinions of any players. Sky are pretty amazing really when it comes to giving away free tournament entries from fun quizzes etc on 865, chucking up free prizes for grabs like a UKOPS entry for a £1 Survivor win or the ME Jackpot, being innovative (and listening to the people) with ideas like the Survivor and the new 'Timed Tourney' Tikay mentioned recently, adding Hyper HUs game (if only for Doh lol) and as Tikay repeatedly says... all they can do is try, if its a flop, then there's no harm done (except Sky wasting time/money on it) they get rid and move on to the next thing.
I personally had a bit of a moan on the Ask Tikay thread recently because there are no Deep or Action tables at micro stakes and as soon as he'd replied, I realised I came across like a childish idiot.

Now Tikay, i agree with everything you have said - apart from the point highlighted! Just where are you getting these employees from at these incredible rates of pay, the civil service or the banking sector lol? It cannot be a very skilled job to read the forum each day and then reply to the posts, and forward any that are worth further attention onto the relevant personnel. I believe you could definitely get someone to do this on the minimum wage and the only overheads they would require would be access to a computer, for your information the rates for the minimum wage are set out below
Current NMW ratesThere are different levels of NMW, depending on your age and whether you are an apprentice. The current rates (from 1 October 2011) are:£6.08 - the main rate for workers aged 21 and over £4.98 - the 18-20 rate£3.68 - the 16-17 rate for workers above school leaving age but under 18£2.60 - the apprentice rate, for apprentices under 19 or 19 or over and in the first year of their apprenticeshipHardly 30k - 40k is it and if you employed someone from one of the many countries in the world that have no minimum wage such as sub saharan africa you could get it done for even less!

That rather misses the point Loony.
It's simply not practical to have a staffer here all day every day to answer every question, & it will never happen, I'm sorry, we might as well make that clear - it'd just not do-able, no Site could ever commit to that, I'm sorry.
The individual cannot be an apprentice, or work experience individual, how would they be aware of latest Management thinking, news from each Management Meeting (much of which is, by necessity, sensitive), Promos, plans, upcoming Releases?
I can't dress this one up Loony, your suggestion is impractical, & will not happen, sorry.
I am fully au fait with NWM rates etc, but the person needs to be far better qualified than that, by a long chalk.
This is one of those things like IT guys - it does not matter how much resource you throw at it, it is never enough, the faster the questions get answered, the faster & more frequently they will come in - it is self-defeating.
I am not aware of any Online Poker Site that even tries to do it, but at least Sky Poker try very hard to - but they cannot commit themself be obliged to do it.
