Playing live the other day when this situation came up.
Blinds £1/£1
utg raises to £4
next player calls £4
next player calls £4
next player who is short stack playing only about £30 dosnt realise it is him to act and misses turn
next player calls £4
next player raises to £28
utg folds
next player folds
next player folds
player who missed turn on first orbit calls £4 not realising its been reraised an extra £24 and is now told the call has to be £28 and made to call the £28 even though he wants to now fold
next player folds
player who reraised to £28 now sees short stack in pot and knows shorty is pot committed and asks for a rulling because his raise was a squeeze with 10 3 off and he would never have done it knowing the short stack was committed.
Both players in the pot wanted to take their cash back out but were told by the floor guy that both bets should stand.
Just wondering if this sounds fair to any of the guys who play on here because i have only just started playing live and dont really know the rules and regs yet.
All just seemed a bit of a mess from where i was sitting with one guy squeezing because the short stack seemed to be out of the pot and with another guy calling £28 when he thought it was £4 then both of them being made to carry on with their bets

Think i will stick to online poker lol

The shorties hand is dead, end of story.
He can't retrospectively enter the pot after missing a whole orbit of action.
Oh, & have the Dealer shot, too.
And quite right too, it is the players responsibility to pay attention to the action.
It would be quite wrong to "let the player off" with no penalty at all, at the very least, he forfeits the £4.
