I have only just come online and cba to start up a cash session so this won't affect me... but how will this work?

Although the "Earning poker points" section of the promo information says you will be credited points at the end of each hand, many of you will know this is not true and they are not actually rewarded until you finish your session and leave the table(s).

So if you started a session at say 12:30 and finished at 2:30 would you actually get 150% points???

On a similar note, the other day I was 2-tabling NL50 which gives 9 points per 20 hands, when I left them I checked my account and had 46 more points than before... howwwww?

Don't know the answer to the first part of your post, but regarding the final paragraph I think points are awarded pro-rata, so you must have played just over 100 raked hands.

Plus you need to actually put money into the pot and see a flop.

    Hi Poker Fail,

Good questions, hopefully this helps answer them all, apologies if a little long.....

    1) You do earn poker points pro-rata at the end of every hand you play on the cash tables, but these are not actually added up and displayed in the my account 'points earned this month' or points balance until you stand up. (we are currently developing a new system which addresses this, and updates poker points at the end of every hand in real-time)

The points earned pro-rata per hand are a division of the number shown in the table for every 20 raked hands, which varies by blind limits. If when you stand up there are fractional points then its rounded down to the nearest point.

    E.G. at 50nl it's 9 points per 20 raked hands so...

10 raked hands = 4.5 points - 4 points  are awarded when you stand up
5 raked hands = 2.25 points - 2 points  are awarded when you stand up
45 raked hands = 20.25 points - 20 points are awarded when you stand up

the bonus boost in a happy hour is applied to the full decimal number, then rounded down afterwards if still a fraction.

E.G. lets say the boost is 100%

10 raked hands at 50nl is now eorth 4.5 * 2 = 9 points. so more than double in this case, as you'd normally receive 4 as shown above.

    2) If you started a session at 12.30 and played til 14.30, then all hands which finish between 13.00 and 14.00 would have been boosted by 50%, so 100 earned would become 150. All poker points earned between 12.30 - 13.00 and 14.00 - 14.30 would be awarded at the normal rate.

This is all automatically calculated and awarded when you stand up at the end of the session, you dont need to sit down/stand up to earn the bonus points.

    3) How did you earn 46 points in that session?

I would assume you played 103 raked hands across the 2 tables in that session. 103 * 9/20 = 46.35, rounded down to 46 points.

    Kind Regards

Thanks for the detail Sky. That would be a great update for me : ) I always like to know how the grinds going lol

Does this also mean that if say, I had 1999 points at 11pm on the 31st  and I played a cash session from then until 1am on new years day, even though "My account" would show 1999 points I would actually be credited with £30 (2000 points worth) as I would have exceeded that mark in "Real time"?
