If we run this thread for a year, it'll never exceed the heights it achieved yesterday, with some terrific replies. It's so good to learn about the people behind the aliases.

Anyway, as it's Good Friday, let's make today's questions nice & easy.

1) Worst moment in poker.

2) Best moment in poker.

Worst - wouldn't really say I had 'one worst moment' as the ups and downs of poker make it what it is.

Best - without doubt qualifying for SPT Manchester through a couple of sats and then finishing 3rd for my biggest win.
Wasn't just about the money, although it helped, it was about going really deep in a big 2 day live tourney.
An unforgettable experience that I thank Sky for.

Worst - Bubbling a Vegas package

Best - A few good memories, 2 days later getting a call that one of the winners had dropped out and being offered the package.

Then cashing in Vegas in the WSOP event they put us in when I had about 1.5bbs 25 from the money

Winning the 1st SPT I attended in Birmingham. I didn’t know anyone there when I arrived but everybody was really friendly and it was a great experience

Best: About a year or so ago I deposited 20 quid on Unibet to see what it was like there. First night I won around €500 euro across a few €5 entries and a €10. €318 of that came from a hard-fought third place in the €10 and was my biggest poker win at the time. The actual best moment came the next night when I played the same tournament and came second this time for about €450. That was a good week.

Worst: Probably the worst I've ever felt was when I realised how much I'd lost trying to beat 5NL on Stars when I first started playing poker. That was roughly when I decided to refocus on MTTs and I've been losing money much slower since then. I would say my runner-up best moment was when I got back to break-even from all my losses in the early days.

Best - Winning a ticket into £3000 Sheriff Bounty Hunter in a free roll. Ran golden, beat pocket aces with pocket kings (rivered a king). won the whole thing for £1842. My biggest win.

Worst - Losing my bank roll playing cash and high value tournaments. Also going on tilt and losing all my money on roulette (numerous times). Glad you can self excludes from Sky Casino and still play poker.

Best Moment - It has to be winning 3k in a heads up promo that Sky ran a few years back. I went on a bit of a heater to qualify for the HU Comp before managing to get to the final where it was 5k for the winner and 3k for the runner up. The whole comp was shown live on Sky Poker TV. I have won a couple of main events but I have never experienced the buzz I got from playing that HU final, my heart was pounding.

Worst - I have blown a 4 figure bankroll twice in the past, mainly by not having any form of bankroll management. They were painful lessons. Also, just not being able to handle the general swings in poker, I do get wound up far easier than I should.

Some great stories from everyone so far. Good question @Tikay10. What are your answers btw?

Worst? 3/13 in a $300k guaranteed on Party. All-in AK v AQ. Flop QQQ...

Best? Close. First MTT win? First WSOP cash? Possibly. Won a $100 R/A on i-poker many years ago. But most exciting was when won my first seat to the WSOP Main in 2007...

Worst - not really had, or will have, one. I play for fun, well within my BR, and i never tilt. (Just wish i was better at the maths)

Best - 2nd in Sunday Roller (few years ago) for circa £3k.

Worst- that’s easy ...first year of playing the game...was 4/8th with 5 Vegas seats up for grabs...chip leader all in every hand and no action.....pocket QQ... so I called his next shove...AK.....hmm...8th... the only saving grace Was I didn’t make the FT of 6 with 5 seats...

Best- even easier...won the 6k predator last June for 1300+ and bounties totalling just under £2k AND came 10th a week later

Better? - winning a Vegas seat if it comes back? 🤪

Best: Going from less than 10bb on the bubble of the old Saturday sharpshooter (before the Goldrush copy and paste) to winning it for just over 2k, that felt good... that entire month was fantastic I had a crazy amount of wins that month.

Worst: Not really a moment but I have been on a very long losing stretch which is probably much longer due my complete lack of motivation and interest since going on a 3k downswing early September last year. I tilt so easily at the minute and just blast off early into my session so I can call it a night. I have taken a bit of time off but it seems the doom-switch is still very much on at the minute I cannot hold late game when it counts. I know it can turn around quickly and I am doing more to look after my mental state whilst playing, I see me un-regging everything early last night and one tabling the £22 that had just started as a win and a step in the right direction, otherwise I start flatting 4bets with trash and bluffing off.

Honourable mention for best: Early into my poker journey I remember taking a shot at the daytime £11 and £22 games and winning both, I was so buzzing I entered the £11 re-buy and won that as well. Then I decided to have a go in the Main in which I finished 5th. I more than doubled my BR that day.

Honerable mention for Worst: Losing AA vs 88 for chip lead final four of a 50k G'teed Super Sunday I remember feeling sick going to bed it hadn't dawned on me I'd just had my 2nd biggest score.

Best: The first ever Betfair Poker forum meetup. I met and then became very good friends with Dave Dubai Shallow, David Pomroy, Kinghawko, Ben Grundy and a few others. This completely U turned my outlook on poker and was the beginning of some success. Guess i should also mention shipping a UKIPT title...

Worst: To be honest theres not a memory that I look back on now and think that the experience of a negative moment didnt eventually create a positive outcome. I left poker full time in 2014 to focus on creating & developing some businesses, 3 of which are still standing now and some of those poker dissapointments certainly help prepare me for the world of business.

Best: Coming 2nd first time I ever played hold-em in a national newspaper freebie, which was a holiday to Monte Carlo ( cashed it in for about 1,000 euros ), and being 3rd in last sundays £20,000 major for £3,040,88p.

Worst: Thinkin I'm a better cash game player than I am and the bank roll gets a gubbin.

Best moment - first decent (for me) MTT win. On ipoker a good few years ago now, $10 MTT for about $1,400. It's still a good feeling to win an MTT, just doesn't happen very often.

Worst moment- never had any financially devastating losses as I'm such a bankroll nit. I did luckbox a Vegas seat a few years ago on here and was doing ok in the $1,000 buy in that Sky entered us into until I 4 bet pre with KK to leave myself a pot sized bet on the flop. J72 flop was looking good so I pushed all in. Was snapped off by JJ (obviously), that exact moment when he flipped over JJ wasn't pleasant.

best moment: After becoming finishing a contract for a job I had a month off. I ended up Winning it for 3.8K! 10 Hours of pure up and downs.
Worse moment: when fulltilt closed down ;( lots of bad plo cash games were on that site

Best was winning my 1st trophy, Casino Seefeld in Austria Poker Masters back in 2009
such a buzz and a nice 11k score . It is a wonderful place to visit , small town , top casino and great for walking in summer, ski in winter.
Worst moment : possible again on an away trip few years ago Spain, decent tourney, 3 way all in on flop , I've KQ cc v AK off v AJ hh flop Kh Qh Qs and the river was 10 of Hearts .
Could also think of some horrible chat at tables that I've heard as very bad moments, but lets all think of the good.
Stay save and G L all.

    Best = winning a 4 figure amount.
Worst = A few years ago, I was second in chips v chip leader in a NLH tournament. On the money bubble... flop comes 2 6 J rainbow.. I have AA. Chip leader has A8 off!! (I know!). I get him all in, somehow!!! I lose the hand... (This was a live tournament, so it does make me sad when people say online poker is rigged- seen plenty of beats live...) I am not sure of the odds of the A8 off winning after that flop, but must be huge 🤪🙂
