Who won what, Friday 31st July

Tikay10Tikay10 Member, Administrator, Moderator Posts: 161,268

Morning.

A decent set of numbers, with the sole exception of the £12,000 Main which came up £660 short. Not a loss as such, as Reg Fees covered the deficit, but not great. Everything else covered with ease, Quickdraw being the star coming in at a handsome 60% north of guarantee.

Considering the weather, with blazing sunshine everywhere, that was a bit of a result really.

£8,000 BWBH £8,600

£12,000 Sharpshooter Main £12,000

£5,000 Sharpshooter Mini £5,870

£1,500 Mega £1,660

£2,500 Sheriff £3,000

£2,000 Turbo £2,460

£1,500 Quickdraw £2,400

£1,500 Mid Ex £1,780

£8,000 Big Weekend Bounty Hunter (£8,600)

How does he do it? SoLack has been here 13 years & his Sharky graph has yet to see a downturn. Exactly a week ago he won Avenger Main, collecting £2,200, last night he added BWBH & that was another £1,900 in his Lucy. In winning, he took just 4 heads - Gambelo in 6th took 12.

In 3rd was Morris707, who won Wednesday's Turbo.

    £12,000 Avenger Rebuy B/Hunter (£12,000)

NIHIGHGUN is another who has been here forever. In early May, he was 6th in this very event, collecting £800, last night he emerged as the winner. Incidentally, when he finalled this in early Mat, the Prize Pool was £23,280, and if we ignore the Guarantee, that was exactly double what it made last night. What a rollercoaster this year has been.

Decent FT, as you would imagine, with kapowblamz beating kodiak for 6th in a photo-finish.

gac123 has endured a mini-downturn in July after a very successful June, but got back on his winning bike last night.

Shrimpy28 had his best result for some time. His first recorded cash (that I can find) was in July 2008, & he's been steadily profitable the entire 12 years.

    £2,500 Sheriff Bounty Hunter (£3,000)

Could not help wondering what the winner's alias means. Anyway, no matter, he/she tends to play exactly one MTT per night, & that was the case last night, single-tabling all the way to victory.

This went to Andyba who held off Worm1968.

"The Worm" was the unofficial nickname for dear old Micky Wernick back in the heyday of UK Live Poker, & he was some character. Last time I bumped into him he was not a well man, so I do hope he recovered from whatever ailed him.

    £1,500 Quickdraw (£2,400)

This went the way of BrayCorp83, and you may remember he just missed the £5,000 Final Table Jackpot last week, finishing 2nd in the Main & winning the Mini. Now here's a thing - I discovered this morning that he's done that TWICE now. Back in September 2018 he did exactly the same thing - 2nd in the Main & won the Mini. I'd be very surprised if anyone else has ever done that twice.

The aptly-named goldnballz won Mid Ex for the 2nd time in a week. The heads up between him & Palace Bloke would have been a brief but fun watch.

Missbhave messaged me in the mini congratulating me on coming 2nd in the main, and the very second I replied thanking her and observing that both of us and miniman were on for a final table jackpot, they were knocked out within ten seconds of each other and I soon followed, so I'd like to apologise for jinxing the whole shebang :)
