Who won what, Monday 12th October

Tikay10Tikay10 Member, Administrator, Moderator Posts: 160,171

Morning.

Yesterday's Virus update by Boris was so depressing. Unless everyone starts following the protocols it's never going to go away. FFS, wear a mask & follow the (admittedly confused) guidelines.

In much brighter news, we have some great characters in our little community. In case you missed it, @Duesenberg did another of his Twitch things last night, with the surprising guest of Nasty Reggi, aka @The--Don , & they helped raise a bunch of charity money, over £300 on the night. And not for the first time, after it was all over along came The Codfather, aka @destinycod & matched that entire amount, so the total was well north off £600. Fabulous stuff, & it restores faith in human nature. Absolute bosses, all three of them.

Meanwhile, it was a decent Monday on Sky Poker, helped by the lack of proper football on TV. All 8 featured MTT's covered, so it was a rare full house. Lovely job.

£1,000 BH £1,120

£6,000 Marksman Main £7,470

    £1,500 Mini Marksman (£2,050)

gregkdy82 took the Mini, his 2nd big result in 24 hours, as he was 3rd in Sunday's £6k BH for a similar sum. He's a busy boy, too, after taking the Mini he continued playing DYM's until 0335 this morning - & was back on site playing another DYM at 8am this morning.

3rd was MacMonster, & it's great to see he's still safe & well, he's some special bloke. When I won the Sky Poker Tour 6 Max at DTD for £12,000, he was kind enough to present the trophy to me.

was an agonising wait from 9th which paid a fiver and 8th for the seats, considering blinds went up everytime you blinked felt like it took an age! chuffed with the seat in the bag.

    Lack of proper football?

Bradford City vs Harrogate Town was the definition of proper football.

None of those premier league tossers throwing themselves on the floor at the merest hint of a touch. Proper Yorkshire Derby, new upstarts vs one of the biggest teams in the division. Much woe on the Braford City forums afterwards. Great Stuff.

Will be back playing tonight, as nobody wants to watch International fancy dans playing for some mickey mouse tournament.

    @Doooobs

Ha, the jibe was aimed at @Sky__James who is a Bradford supporter. Believe it or not, Harrogate - the away team - were just 13/8.

I'd actually agree that it would be more interesting than all this International shite.

    GL tonight.

I am a Bradford fan too, but used to go and see Harrogate Town quite a bit when I was younger.

Harrogate Town are pretty inspiring and play the game the right way and they seem very together as a team right from the very top (Proud to be Town on an alternative Sports Channel captures this pretty well). Some of the comments were pretty comical, as some Bradford fans were talking as if they had lost to a team from 3 divisions below.

I struggle to believe they are in the same league now too, as Harrogate Town used to be 10p to get in and 4p for a program which was a couple of bits of A4 stapled together. But they definitely both deserve to be where they are. Harrogate Town were probably the best team in the National League earlier in the year and Bradford City don't really desererve to be any higher than they are right now. I would love them both to go up obviously, but only put my money on one of them to do so (let's just say I wasn't that surprised last night).

Hopefully I'll be a bit more Harrogate Town tonight having been a bit Bradford City for much of Sunday.

I was watching one of the Bristol teams a few weeks ago - City I think - & I see Nahki Wells is still knocking around. He was one of your buys about a decade ago if I'm not mistaken, in fact I think we bet him a few times on tips for tikay. Great memories.

I loved Nahki Wells, he was brilliant for us and I am sure Huddersfield fans will say the sane. He was one who tried every game. I was a bit sad he never made it in the Premier League with Burnley, but Sean Dyche didn't seem to rate him, so he never really got a chance. Rarely playing, and then only coming on 5 minutes from the end of games, for a team that were never prolific, wasn't going to be great for a footballer. It was a bit baffling, but guess the rare short appearences were never going to be good for a healthy relationship between the player and manager.

He still has a chance, but he is getting on a bit now for making an impression in the Premier League, but Bristol City are doing OK so far. Obv still too good to return to Bradford.
