Who won what, Tuesday 12th January

Morning.

It was made known yesterday that Sheldon Adelson had passed away. He was famous for 3 things really. 1) He was fabulously wealthy - supposedly the 30th richest individual on earth. 2) He founded & part owned -amongst much else - the Venetian/Palazzo complex in Las Vegas. 3) He strongly lobbied against Online Poker in the USA, which made him somewhat unpopular with poker players.

So I sidled over to 2 + 2 to see what the reaction was, & the first post I read was;

"Burn in **** Sheldon!"

Then I looked on Twitter, & this was the first "tribute" I saw;

"Sheldon is dead! He was a proud murderous scumbag. He wouldn't want your sympathy anyway, honor his life with virtually dancing on his rotting corpse!"

I stopped looking then.

Dislike the guy? That's fine, but celebrating his death is something altogether different. Poker players are very strange indeed.

Back to business then. A rather average Tuesday, with the new increased guarantees all kicking in. Everything covered OK except MidEx which missed by a hundo or so. I read on our Forum yesterday that Sky Poker are masking "record profits" so I guess they'll cope with a smidgeon of overlay.

    7 at 7 Bounty Hunter (£1,379)

    Makaka seems to live in an idyllic state of a permanent upswing. He finalled last Friday's BWBH, & this was his second 7 @ 7 win in the last month.

    Curiously, runner-up MAGPIETYKE was looking for a similar double, & was only one spot shy of winning 7 @ 7 for the 2nd time in a month.

    SadPanda is sad no more, returning from a 2 week absence & immediately finding himself in the winners enclosure.

    Plenty of quality on the FT including whitters, johnny_e & PBKR. The last named is having his own uptick at the moment, including an Xmas Day victory in Avenger Main for big money.

    5th was Squirrel15 who could not find the nuts when he most needed them.

    £8,000 Gold Rush (£8,430)

    Gold Rush winner TBLTDK does not do much volume, but a Sharky rating of 91 suggests he is more than useful. He certainly put runner-up sabre to the sword.

    Probably the most amazeballs result of the night & one which caused me to do a double take was LmfaoAllin in 4th. He was also 3rd in the Mini a few nights ago. How do these things happen? There is hope for us all.

    £8,000 Summit Bounty Hunter (£8,800)

    A quite rare double for grinddd, who won his second £110 MTT in a fortnight, first UKOPS 03 for a whopping 5 large, now Summit for ~£2,180. Sharky rate him at 93. Goodness me.

    Dustolucko had a splendid session - 2nd in Summit, 1st in Turbo & 4th in MidEx.

    Delighted to see our Rose in 3rd, she has her own way of playing & I'm pretty sure it makes the Big Boys go cross-eyed as they struggle to work out how to deal with her. She certainly does not lack heart.

    The very highly rated ValueJL was 5th. Sharky have him at a 95 rating, which must be pretty close to the top of the Sky Poker tree.

    Hurrah for arthur - he was 3rd in this 2 nights earlier, but was on the rampage last night taking 22 heads on the way to the podium top step.

    6th was Jeni82 who has been banging heads together in tenner BH's recently.

    Bit of an oddity here, the top three - Dusto, PBKR & Baboon were all making their 2nd FT of the evening. Dusto went on to make it three in Mid Ex.

    In 5th was seikus who seems to make a featured Final almost daily at the moment. Since January 1st this makes 9 of them, which includes a Turbo win, & runner up spots in Sheriff (twice) & Reload.
