Who won what, Sunday 2nd May. A Major win for FuzzyDare, & a surprise result in the Mini.

Morning.

A pretty decent night for MTT traffic. All 10 featured MTT's were up on last week & the week before, so that's pretty solid.

Yesterday's sort was a bit mixed, the F1 GP was a but flat, the Moto GP was good - as always - & the Snooker final is a bit of an anti-climax so far.

In some ways, the sporting highlight was the postponement of the Man U v Liverpool game after fans broke into the stadium & staged demonstrations. The primary object of their ire is the Glazer family, who according to the fans have "taken £400 million out of the Club". I really don't understand the fuss - the Glazers OWN the club, so they can take as much money out of it as they wish. And it's not like they have starved the club of funds, they still spend freely in the transfer market. Man U's failure to be the team most of us want them to be is nothing to do with lack of money, it's down to buying the wrong players, or maybe managing them badly. We can hardly blame the Glazers for that. And you thought poker players were the only ones who suffered from false entitlement? Bleurgh.

    Third time lucky for Sonnyjem. He had made the 7 @ 7 final twice this year, finishing 6th & 3rd, & he completed the progression with the win last night.

    In 3rd was AlexaAJ, who also ran 5th in the £1,000 Rebuy BH that kicks off 10 minutes later.

    £6,000 Bounty Hunter (£7,830)

    luckme002 ended April in a blaze of glory, winning Turbo & MidEx (twice) in three nights, & it looks like he is starting this month well too, taking the £6k BH & collecting some £1,300. When you plan to play a full session, it's always good to win one early, as it takes the pressure off for the rest of the evening.

    Runner-up chillipete was playing his first MTT here for three months. See you in August, Pete.

    PAPABURG is hitting some form, he won Mega a few nights ago & was 4th here for over £460, which is decent money in my book.

    @luckme002 1305000 1 £1051.57 + £258.07 Head Prizes 8

    @chillipete 0 2 £627.57 + £176.62 Head Prizes 8

    £15,000 Sunday Major (£16,300)

    FuzzyDare had been AWOL since Easter UKOPS before turning up on Saturday & playing Sharpshooter Main. He had no joy there, but maybe fine-tuned his sights & returned last night to take the Sunday Major, & a handsome £4,500.

    In 2nd was PRYBLDBBB, & I can't begin to guess what that alias may mean. A Welsh name, perhaps? Anyway, he only has 18 Sky Poker MTT's on his CV, and this was almost certainly a PB.

    Further down the field, there were some small cashes for dameflop & weecheez, God bless them both.

    £2,000 Sheriff Bounty Hunter (£2,850)

    Francotir won Sheriff for the 2nd time, having also won it in November, he has two recent MidEx wins to his credit too.

    Perhaps the most eye-catching result of the night was by runner-up roddy28. How about this for a sequence of results in Sheriff?

    Monday 26th April - 2nd

    Friday 30th April - 1st

    Saturday 1st May 2nd

    Sunday 2nd May - 2nd

    £1,500 Reload Rebuy B/Hunter (£1,773)

    famouscfc plays more DYM's than MTT's & had a really solid session of them last night, winning 6 of the last 8 he played, so this Reload victory was a cracking bonus for him.

    SNAKE57 did aspecially well in 2nd, whilst Dr_Velcro stuck to his task well to finish 3rd.

    £1,000 Midnight Express B/Hunter (£1,600)

    Card4Life took MidEx, exactly a month after he won the Mini Major.

    scotty77 made it three successive finals on the night - 3rd in Turbo, 4th in Quicky & 3rd in MidEx.

    Bailiffman seized 5th, & big_dam, who does well in late night stuff, & used his reservoir of talent well to run 6th here.

    £2,000 Mini Major (£2,380)

    My first job each morning is to check who has won what. I've been doing that for some 15 years now & I still never tire of it, that sort of sense of expectation. Not sure if that makes me an enthusiastic member of the team, or a full on saddo. Actually, I don't really care what folks think, I get a kick from seeing good guys do well & that's all there is to it.

    So it was a delight to awake to the news that the deputy organiser of MML had won Mini Major. He's clearly hopeless at Bounty Hunters, averaging 1 head prize per MTT, but this was a vanilla freezeout, & he spreadeagled the field in fine style.

    A peruse of his results this year tells us he is actually quite handy. Previous wins in 2021 include 2 Megastacks, a MidEx, & a supersized Mini Avenger in February which was worth over £1,000. So this was his 2nd Mini victory in 2021. Many players can go years or even a lifetime without taking down a Mini, so a big well done to the fella. He is due to present his dissertation this Thursday, so let's hope that goes well.
