Who won what, Wednesday 23rd June. Scotty at the double.

Afternoon.

MTT traffic was on the thin side last night. There were two superb games in Euro that both began at 8pm, but its hard to say if they affected online poker.

Next Tuesday England play Germany, so that will definitely be reflected in the poker schedule & guarantees. Weather, Euros, da de da, if it's not one excuse it's another. (If the apostrophe police are reading this, go easy on me).

Lovely to see lolufold win the Main. He used to take his poker very seriously, & I daresay he has won the Sky Poker Main many many times, but these days he has mostly moved onto other stuff, especially music. (See today's music feature).

biggirl had their best result for many a a month, collecting over £650 in second place.

Quite a star-studded Final this, with the likes of lolufold, luckme002 & ozzie all in attendance.

    The Bates was 6th.

    £1,500 Mini Predator (£1,500)

Just 24 hours after winning the £1k BH that runs at 1930, darsh11 took last night's Mini, with the ultra tight LiamRynn 2nd.

In 4th was a very old friend of both Sky Poker & myself, oynutter. If he ever gets round to writing the story of his life, you really ought to read it, boy oh boy he's faced & overcome more adversity than enough. He's a complete whack-job, mind, & don't worry, he'll take that as a compliment.

    £1,000 Mega Stack B/Hunter (£1,000)

Mega went to JPDERRY who has been here a good few years. He & I used to clash at the tables from time to time back in the day. Happy memories.

Talking of Derry, as an aside, if any of you live anywhere near Newark in Notts you may know there is a business with which I was vaguely associated back in the 1990's by the name of Derry Building Services. It was - still is I guess - a family business run by the Derry family, all of whom rejoiced in the same middle name - Ironmonger. What sort of business was it? No prizes for guessing that. Very famous family too, one of his forebears - Samuel Ironmonger Derry - was the subject of a This Is Your Life episode. Fascinating, eh? At least you now know why I would never bother writing my life story, which would serve only as a cure for insomnia.

    CORRECTION

In Wednesday's write up, I suggested that Johnny Cash wrote the lyrics to "Hurt".

    It's since been pointed out to me by a music aficionado that in fact the lyrics were by Nine Inch Nails. Here's what Wiki says;

"Hurt" is a song by American industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails from their second studio album, The Downward Spiral (1994), written by Trent Reznor. It was released on April 17, 1995 as a promotional single from the album. The song received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rock Song in 1996.

In 2002, Johnny Cash covered "Hurt" to commercial and critical acclaim. The related music video is considered one of the greatest of all time by publications such as NME. Reznor praised Cash's interpretation of the song for its "sincerity and meaning", going so far as to say "that song isn't mine anymore.

By way of recompense & reward to the gentleman who pointed out my error - @NOSTRI - I thought I'd post a nice track by Nine Inch Nails today, but I could not find one. I'm afraid industrial rock - whatever that is - does not seem to be my thing.

Earlier I mentioned that lolufold was into music these days, well here he is bashing out a lively rendition of I Got A woman.
