Who won what, Wednesday 28th July

edited July 2021 in Poker Chat
Afternoon.

I was late on parade today so I'm a little short of time & will have to rattle though these today.

MTT traffic was not too bad, with the Main hitting it's best (Wednesday) number for 6 or 7 weeks. Still not great like, but given we are mid-summer in a very strange year it was OK imo.

No sporting comments today due to lack of time. Pretty sure nobody will even notice.

I recognize the winner's alias partly because it's a recent 7 @ 7 winner, but more likely as it represents a famous steam locomotive, but I'm sure I've bored you enough with steam locomotive photos so I'll spare you that today.

Good quality final this, with skyflyer, neenio & KLL-y all in the shake-up.

    £5,000 Predator Bounty Hunter (£5,670)

Richie147 took the Main, & is another relative newbie from what I can see, just 160 games, the best of which seems to be 5th in a recent Sharpshooter Main.

Maybe KickaStink is a little unlucky - 2nd in Hitman Main six nights earlier, now 3rd in Predator. Top step of the podium next time please Mr Stick to complete a Main Event trifecta.

spearys136 was the FT bubble boy, finishing 7th. No big deal you might think but he ran 2nd in the Mini so narrowly missed a slice of FTJ cake. Win a flip or two more in the Main & he could have been £housands better off.

In a way, the performance I most admired was waller02. He was 1st of 13, but exited 12th, which sounds pretty brutal. He just shrugged his shoulders though, sort of "such is poker" & never chuntered at all, or not that I saw. I really do respect poker players who take spots like that in their stride. To be fair, he may have gone & kicked the dog.

    £1,500 Mini Predator (£1,585)

Walker73 was playing just their fourth MTT in six weeks. Has made the Final of the Mini on several occasions, but this was the first time they've emerged top of the pile as far as I can see.

spearsy - see the Main write-up - was 2nd. If only he'd made the Main Final we may have had a cheery headline today.

NOSTRI was 5th here & 2nd in a £300 BH later in the session. His graph has gone a bit flat recently, but I fancy he might just win a biggie soon.

Some proper Big Boys fought out the Final, with KLL-y getting the better of Mr Bates HU.

4th was the mercurial DestinyCod, with RUNITSRANN, once one of the biggest players on the site & with an impressive Live resume, in 5th.

I have no idea how an MTT player can keep concentration when only playing one MTT per session but for the second time last night that's what happened here, so well done chris2305.

    £1,000 Midnight Express B/Hunter (£1,200)

Bomber69 completed a hat-trick of players last night who played one, won one.*

    * To players to whom English is not their first language, how on earth do they cope with words like won & one, pronounced identically, spelt differently, with completely unrelated meanings?

ZZ Top founder Dusty Hill died yesterday. He was 72 so had a decent innings.

I made a complete fool of myself yesterday when discussing Slipknot, & I know equally little about ZZ Top, so I'll leave it at that. We'll have a ZZ video though, which may or may not include our now deceased friend.

I do know their trade mark seemed to be cranky beards & hot rods, & this vid features both.
