Who won what, Tuesday 28th September - Dog Bloke takes the Summit

Tikay10Tikay10 Member, Administrator, Moderator Posts: 161,321

Morning.

Traffic a bit thin again last night. It was the £5,000 Summit night, & that one operates in a remarkably narrow band - it was £6,000 last night for the 2nd straight week, & has been within £200 of that figure for the last 8 weeks. However, Gold Rush Main at £5,190 was near the bottom of it's recent run-rate.

In sport, it was Champions League night, & Liverpool seem to be back to their imperious best, overwhelming Porto 5-0 away. Not so Manchester City who were turned over 2-0 by PSG, including a piece of Messi magic. It's very rare that City deserve to lose, but they were very much second best last night against the PSG All Stars. And perhaps for the first time ever, we saw Messi used as a draught excluder. Liverpool & Man City play each other this Sunday, not a match to be missed. The big shock was Real Madrid being beaten at home by Sheriff Tiraspol, one of the biggest upsets ever seen in the CL. I had to look up where Sheriff came from, & it's a place called Transnistria (which I'd never heard of) & is part of Moldova, which sits between Ukraine & Romania. But you all knew that already.

Poker traffic, football, draught excluders & geography, what are the chances of those four in one post?

    7 at 7 Bounty Hunter (£714)

    Exactly 10 days after winning a Mini, utang took last night's 7 @ 7. Has finalled both Reload & MidEx in the same period too.

    Runner-up was glencoelad. He's Edinburgh-based, so I expect he will be playing the GUKPT which visits town this weekend I'm told. Several of the Sky Poker Travelling Massive will be there, so should be fun.

    £1,000 Bounty Hunter (£1,000)

    With JJFlash winning it & Baztard in 6th, I could not help being reminded of the larger than life characters in the photos.

    In 2nd spot, having already won two Sunday Majors this month, was Palace. Palace Bloke the poker player, not the football club who have won nothing, obv.

    £5,000 Gold Rush (£5,190)

    RCord took the Main, & just seems to be a really progressive sort. In one weekend alone last month he won Mega, Sheriff & Turbo.

    Natnug, who has some decent form in the book, was 3rd.

    AMD68 had some great form in the Spring, winning a Mini Major & 4th in a Hitman Main. Since his recent return 5th here was his best result & bodes well. He's another who make a special guest appearance at the Edinburgh GUKPT thing this weekend, though in his case the Seniors or Super Seniors seems more appropriate. Incidentally, it's being held at The Maybury. If there's a better looking venue in the UK I've yet to see it.

    88WIN88 is a Mini season ticket holder & has made the Final more times than enough, but unless my records are faulty, this was the first time they've taken the top spot. Well done Mr 88.

    £1,000 Mega Stack B/Hunter (£1,140)

    Mega was taken by Makaka, who needs no introduction, & who took a Mini Marksman earlier this month. Probably won most of the Featured MTT's in fact, is a serial winner.

    2nd was djsnorlax, a week after taking the Sheriff.

    After winning this on Monday, ctbn made a bold bid for the double but was not good enough & ended up 5th. I suppose I ought to write something nice about him but it's not easy.

    @Makaka 570000 1 £210.90 + £127.08 Head Prizes 6

    £5,000 Summit Bounty Hunter (£6,000)

    A very popular result here as Summit went to rspca12. Not sure anyone dislikes Dog Bloke who we can expect to see at the upcoming SPT Manchester, alongside his miniature twin, @cpfc_2010. They have remarkably similar body shapes, though Dog Bloke is a sort of super-sized version.

    peiratis was 2nd, with the seemingly omnipresent skyflyer in 3rd. A few days ago I referred to skyflyer as a young lady, which met with some resistance from a discerning reader. In truth I don't really know & it was just a hunch, so hopefully I've not offended him/her/them.

    There was a very unusual distribution of bounties here, with the Top 5 each taking 4 heads.

    @rspca12 300000 1 £1110 + £414.39 Head Prizes 4

    @peiratis88 0 2 £660 + £286.95 Head Prizes 4

    £1,500 Reload Rebuy B/Hunter (£1,500)

    Natnug was a fine 3rd in the Main before going on to win Reload.

    In 3rd was gibbzy, of whom I heard some great reviews, apparently he played superbly last night.

    £1,500 Turbo Bounty Hunter (£1,500)

    From a small sample size UnEuropean continues to impress, highlighted by a recent BWBH win and FT's of the Major & Summit, & he added his third Turbo win of the month last night.

    One of the most shrewd judges of horse racing on the site, DUNMIDOSH, was 2nd.

    utand, RCord & Makaka were all making their second FT of the session.

    £1,000 Midnight Express B/Hunter (£1,000)

    MidEx went to bigfatfish, a 112,000 game veteran on Sky Poker, though 95% of them are DYM's.

    Monday's winner p0jo was 5th, with BlairReid, another likely runner for this week's Edinburgh GUKPT, in 6th.

    In other news...

    News emerged yesterday that Openbet have been sold for $1.2 billion to Endeavor. (Yes, that's how it is spelt - they are a USA-based business).

    Who are Openbet? Chances are, if you have ever had an online sports bet, or played poker online, you have used their products. Their Clients include SB&G, Ladbrokes, Betfair, Paddy Power, Wm Hill & many many others. Very low profile but a giant of Online Gaming.

    The seller was Scientific Games, & their CEO stated.....

    " "Endeavor's deep industry relationships and global reach make them the ideal partner. Together, these companies will be well positioned to capitalize on emerging trends to deliver even more innovative and tailored solutions to customers as we define the future of sports betting entertainment."

    And if that's not a horrific example of corporate speak I don't know what is. If only all big business took a leaf out of Warren Buffett's book & spoke like normal people.

    We have featured Clapton & I Shot The Sheriff umpteen times already, well here's umpteen & 1.

    Might be one of the best versions ever. He never plays it the same two nights running, but this is just superb.

    Hi Tony, unfortunately I wont be playing any Live events this year...unless the dreaded Covid numbers change.
    I have been out to the Maybury but only to do new upholstery and curtains for them,
    place is looking great . Good luck all Sky players going.

    2nd best?

    PSG defended well but City were much the superior team; created a lot more, had more of the ball, more crosses, corners, attacks....had way less defending to do than our French counterparts thanks to the front foot approach.

    Just couldn't stick one away and got sucker-punched at the other end.
    We dealt with Messi/Neymar/Mbappe pretty well overall but a trio of that quality are hard to fully contain for a full 90 mins.

    Pretty confident we'll see them off in the reverse fixture.

    Anyway, I'm sure you only wanted a rise with that comment and you got it so wp wp :smiley:

    There's no limit to the depths I will stoop to get occasional replies on the Results Thread. It's very gratifying to get the occasional bite, I must confess.
