Who won what, Sunday 24th October - shock Sunday Major winner

Tikay10Tikay10 Member, Administrator, Moderator Posts: 158,809

Morning.

After the heady heights of Saturday, MTT traffic dropped back to more normal levels last night.

In sport there was a spectacular match at Old Trafford, with Liverpool trouncing Man U 5-0, leaving Ole scratching his head. In truth, all yesterday was confirm what we already knew - United, under Ole, are nowhere near good enough. He faces a tough time from his Board, the fans, the press, & most of all social-media now. I don't envy him. Meanwhile, Mo Salah scored for a tenth consecutive game, in fact he bagged a hat-trick. His bargaining position with FSG gets better by the day. Not so much Harry Maguire, who confirmed he is not remotely good enough.

Great news in cricket too, Ben Stokes has declared himself fit & has been added to the England squad for the imminent Ashes Series.

    £12,000 Sunday Major (£13,600)

Well now, the Major went to skytrain, & I was going to tell you a terrific story about the original "Skytrain" airline founded by Freddie Laker 50 years ago which totally changed the world & the way air travel works. But in fact there's a better story, as skytrain appears not to have played here since 2012, 9 long years ago & prior to last night had played just 4 games here. Suddenly turned up last night, played & won a £2.40 Frenzy, then went on to win the Major itself for close to £4,000. Extraordinary. Many players set great store in keeping notes on rival players, but clearly skytrain managed just fine without notes. Who needs notes?

2nd was Sharki0, with several in-form players in the minor money spots, including NIGHIGHGUN, Palace Bloke, BooBoo & StayOrGo.

    £1,500 Mini Major (£1,670)

No mysteries about the Mini Major winner, jordz just turns up, wins money & goes home, simple. Probe a little deeper & it's actually a remarkable double, as he won the proper Major just two weeks ago. Can't think of many who have won both versions in a fortnight.

It was very pleasing to see MISTY4ME finish 4th as he won the seat in the Daily Forum Comp. I took a look late last night just before bed & he was clinging on grimly with about 3 tables left, so must have made quite a late surge. Many of you will have been following the "What would (should) you do.....?" thread, which MISTY started & which has severely exercised @HAYSIE. 700 views, 74 replies, & counting & they have yet to reach even a modicum of agreement. Just imagine getting in an argument with HAYSIE, he just wears you down until you eventually concede defeat. He should have been a Timeshare salesman. Oh, wait, he was....

Crushy winning an MTT is like Mo Salah scoring a goal, it's not really news as it happens so often. And to further the analogy, if Crushy was Mo Salah, @NOSTRI would be Harry Maguire.

    £1,000 Quickdraw (£1,520)

Thewhore - not an alias anyone would forget in a hurry - made their Results Thread debut with a Quickdraw victory. Only played a few dozen games here.

A 6th place double for Monty15, 6th in both Turbo & Quickdraw. Just missed out on an SPT seat too, though picked up £176, so nearly enough to pay for a ticket.

£1,000 UKOPS Eliminator Freeroll (322 runners)

Quite a (pleasant) surprise to see Sharksbite here (2nd), she - Naomi - was a huge player here back in the day, & her other half won an SPT down in Cardiff or Swansea one year, think his alias was something like RonaldMcDonald.

Some great efforts here, including both @aynaricol & even @NOSTRI. Amazing how competitive - & fun - freerolls can be.

Returning after a 9 year absence, having played just 4 games here, gaining entry via a £2.40 Frenzy, before pocketing almost £4,000 by winning the Major? That'll do.

    Banter is fine.
    Being nasty isnt.
I have only ever taken the pi55 out of your play, in hands that you were silly enough to post.
You know nothing about my MRS.
Or what I am like to live with.
I cant imagine the excitement that goes on in the Tilson household.
If I start commenting about you Mrs, I can assure you that you wont like it.
I will reply properly by PM.
