Who won what, Monday 15th November - bakersdoze wins the Main

Tikay10Tikay10 Member, Administrator, Moderator Posts: 159,787

Morning.

The regular style Results Thread returns today after an absence due to SPT. It's a little brief as I'm a bit UTW today, but we should be back to normal tomorrow.

MTT Traffic on the site held up well during SPT, & was not too bad last night either.

In football, Scotland silenced the doubters, & eased their way into the play-off semi finals.

England played too, beating the hapless San Marino 10-0. San Marino sit 210th of 210 in the FIFA rankings, & have won exactly one game in the last 186, so let's not get excited. More annoyingly, the football authorities have still not woken up to the realities of climate change. England flying - or any other ing - all the way to San Marino for a game which was a foregone conclusion is beyond ridiculous. And the politicians expect you & me to make sacrifices.

In domestic football, Andy Carroll has signed a short-term deal with Reading, but we can expect him to miss most games due to minor injuries caused by not training properly. Andy might just be the worst value & most underperforming footballer in the last 20 years.

    Before we look at last night, congrats to @MattBates who won Friday's Avenger Main for over £1,700. About time too Mr Bates.

    Back to last night now, & it was bakersdoze who took the top spot, ahead of Ryan, aka @waller02. And thanks to waller's Main Event Challenge, which he commented upon, we also saw bakersdoze on the thread. It's really tough to keep this Forum active & fresh, so situations like this are exactly what we need. More posts begat more posts. Thanks Ryan & bakerdoze.

    In 4th was MacMonster, who we saw up at PT Manchester over the weekend.

    5th was Jessie, with seikus 6th.

    £1,500 Mini Marksman (£1,500)

    Thrilled to see butters08 take the Mini. 18,000 games here, ABI of around £2, so does not hit the headlines too often. And look who he had to beat to get the win - that man Bates.

    or8treacle was 4th, with ronny707 5th.

    Just missing the FT was seikus, and as he ran 6th in the Main he was very close to getting some FTJ money. Not this time though, sadly.

    £1,000 Mega Stack B/Hunter (£1,380)

    zoot - not to be confused with noot, as in Pingu - took Mega, & he's another with a profile similar to butters08, a tough & loyal foot-soldier. Collected £420 here, in addition to~£70 the night before, when 3rd in a £500 BH.

    Danyo0, fresh back home from the SPT, where I met him for, I think, the first time, was 2nd.

    In 3rd was I_C_Balls, & I could not help but wonder if that alias is connected with the big Derbyshire business (see photo) of J C Balls & Sons. Probably not...

    @zoot 690000 1 £207 + £215.11 Head Prizes 12

    @Danyo0 0 2 £138 + £22.50 Head Prizes 3

    @I_C_Balls 0 3 £82.80 + £35.63 Head Prizes 4

    @AKAscotty 0 4 £69 + £24.38 Head Prizes 3

    @SHYBOY51 0 5 £55.20 + £39.85 Head Prizes 4

    £1,500 Sheriff Bounty Hunter (£1,850)

    Sheriff starts at 9pm. Exactly 3 minutes earlier, bar4004 won a £3 satellite to it, and a couple of hours later had won Sheriff for over £600. Nice.

    Sadly absent from SPT Manchester, as he had a nasty bout of 'flu, Mr Channing ran a fine 3rd. He was much missed in Manchester, he's a very popular guy. Despite his absence, he kept "the boys" furnished with horse racing tips on Friday & Saturday, with some great results. Thanks Mr C, hope you are feeling better now.

    £1,500 Reload Rebuy B/Hunter (£1,536)

    Well done to steviep89, securing his best result in over two years.

    2nd was Brains, who is possibly related to a character in Gerry Anderson's Fireball XL5.

    @steviep89 1482000 1 £213.94 + £76.31 Head Prizes 9

    @Brains 0 2 £127.68 + £41.22 Head Prizes 7

    @GFKIJKLL 0 3 £76.15 + £46.24 Head Prizes 10

    @hazelwoo05 0 4 £59.90 + £17.22 Head Prizes 4

    @elderon 0 5 £50.98 + £16.10 Head Prizes 5

    @BUBBLYDAN 0 6 £42.69 + £25.58 Head Prizes 5

    The Brain, seen in the Fireball XL5 episode Hypnotic Sphere, was on planet Suventa, inside a glass container. The Brain wanted to use the fuel from the Space Fuel Tankers, which would power thirty more spheres. Then they would go out and hypnotise the universe and the brain would become in charge of everything. Steve Zodiac kills the brain by destroying the heat system, causing the brain to freeze to death.

    A really hot Final this, one of the toughest of the night. KLL-y took the win, with scotty77, bigfatfish, Neilio & clarke996, all good payers & all in contention. Not quite so good - well, to be truthful, far from good - ctbn was 3rd. Into each life a little rain must fall.

    Still feeling a bit rough actually Tikay...had it weeks now. This final was a right old battle, we played four handed for over an hour I reckon and the posotions changed back and forwards loads of times. I have to say bar4004 played really well and had a style that reminded me of myself in my youth.

    No worries thanks for the write up and putting so much effort into the forum, nice to take a tournament down after a downswing.
