Who won what, Tuesday 16th November - DeaD_CLowN takes Summit for the 3rd time this year

Morning.

MTT traffic continues to be encouraging rather than excellent, but as a lifelong nit I guess I'd accept that.

Last night was part 1 of the WSOP Final, so maybe a lot of Sky Poker players played some cash & watched the WSOP into the early hours.

Sport? Well Wales drawing with Belgium was quite something. Not as "quite something" as the inquiry into racism at YCC. What an eye-opener this whole thing has been, & I confess I was blissfully unaware that racism in cricket was as deeply embedded as it now appears. Bravo, Rafiq. And now the name of David Lloyd, aka "Bumble", enters the fray. Goodness me.

7 @ 7 winner NoProHere_ does not hit the headlines too often but considering the stakes he plays he does just fine. His best result was to take down a UKOPS Rebuy BH this time last year for some £1,500. MAXALLY was 4th in that one incidentally.

What a night for kenmillon, he began by picking up £2 (TWO POUNDS) in the Rewards Freeroll, and followed that with a Main Event win for £1,200.

    Old-stager lyonsbob06 was 2nd, with Cadley third.

In 4th was Bloodclots, who succeeded in getting a very unpleasant slang term past the Sky Poker filters.

    £1,500 Mini Gold Rush (£1,965)

I have no idea what the winner's alias stands for, but given he has played 27,000 games here perhaps it's time I did. So I visited google & it suggests "born on a Sunday". Hands up who guessed that correctly? Anyway, whilst winning the Mini he played 4 x £2.20 Turbo DYM's & won all 4. When you are hot & all that.

On Monday butters08 won the Mini, beating none other than Mr Bates Heads Up, & he made a brave attempt at a 24 hour double last night, coming up just short in 4th.

Crushy turns up, Crushy wins. Nothing to see here. I just noticed, incidentally that he has 43,000 games to his credit here. His profit per game is eye-popping too. He's some player.

    £5,000 Summit Bounty Hunter (£6,300)

Amazingly, DeaD_CLowN was winning Summit for the 3rd time in 2021. Not many can better that, surely? His best result was a year ago, almost to the day, when he took the Sunday Major & the £5,100 first prize.

In 3rd was that man Crushy.

6th went to Granite89, who I saw sitting at a cash table at SPT Manchester on Saturday with an i_pad in front of him, upon which he was playing cash on Sky Poker. He finished top of the Cash Game Challenge, earning £750, so that worked out nicely. How did he do in the Manchester cash game? No idea, but knowing him he probably made a few bob. He's very decent, & unless my memory has failed completely, he won SPT Las Vegas a few years ago too.

    £1,500 Reload Rebuy B/Hunter (£1,500)

The specialist act of JUDGEJON is Reload, & he won it last night for the 2nd time in little over a month.

In 4th was UnEuropean, who lists a BWBH win, 3rd & 6th in the Major & 3rd in Summit amongst his better results.

5th was babyluke, who is probably better known for his Forum Posts than his results.

The excellent fishhhh - who is most certainly not - took Turbo, with some very good players sharing the FT, including Mr Bates, who missed the SPT but won both a Mega and Avenger Main over the weekend.

I do enjoy a clever alias, & Lebellend is certainly that. Bit of a MidEx specialist, and not the first time he's won it.

I've put up loads of tracks featuring Jeff Beck, perhaps too many, but most of them include a chap by the name of Vinnie Colaiuta on drums. Well here he is in another setting - jazz. If he's not the best all-round drummer on earth, he's not far off.

    People In Glass Houses...

Azeem Rafiq has apologised for sending antisemitic messages in 2011 in a post on social media.

The former cricketer, who has been at the centre of revealing the recent racism scandal which has sent shockwaves through the game, posted a statement on Twitter.

He said he was "ashamed" of messages he sent more than a decade ago when he was 19-years-old and apologised to the Jewish community.

The messages, seen by The Times, appear to have been sent between Rafiq and former Warwickshire and Leicestershire player Ateeq Javid.

According to the newspaper, the messages were sent about another Asian cricketer, with Rafiq making disparaging comments.

Maybe there ought to be an amnesty for all historical comments?

    This is getting ridiculous.

Unfortunately certain sections of society could now use an anti-Semitic social media post at 19 years old as a justification for the years of institutionalised racism he bore the brunt of.

The fact it's been dug up and highlighted in the midst of the investigation speaks volumes.

So just to be clear here, you don't think peoples historic social media posts should be held to account?

I'm saying what appears to be isolated social media comments, sent went 19 years old, shouldn't detract from the institutionalised racism he was subject to in the ranks at YCC (or excuse it)

Absolutely he should be condemned for those comments, but his teenage social media comments to a friend have no real relevance whatsoever to this ongoing investigation. So the timing of them being 'uncovered', more than a decade after the fact, is surely not a coincidence. Why now?

It's at least good to see he has owned up and apologised for said comments, which is a million miles away from YCC and their stance of ignoring and ultimately attempting to cover up the institutionalised racism in their ranks.
