Is the SPT back with regular events?

After the return of the Sky poker tour in manchester last month (which i unfortunately couldnt make), I was wondering (hoping) whether this meant the tour will be back with regular tournaments in 2022?

    Yes, that's the plan.

Negotiations with venues continue & are not finalised yet, so it's not 100%, but hopefully they will soon be sorted.

Of course, we are all at the whim of COVID, so that could possibly be a problem, but let's hope not.

If its in vegas will they cover flights/hotel etc? I mean I would of entertained Manchester just it was half way across the country from where I am based and once factoring in hotels and travel and food etc it was looking like trip would exceed £500 which I doubt my edge would be enough to cover that assuming I would have an edge (no idea on strength of competition.) I have to take poker bankroll management into account and to spend £500 on a poker tournament well I am just not rolled for that.

maybe if girlfriends music career takes of and she covers half the cost and I win a sat Manchester next year?

Maybe do one in London I can get coach to London for fiver each way. and no need for Hotel. I would need to go fully keto before hand though, so that would not need toilet on national express. I could tell horror stories about the toilets on national express but this may be inappropriate for the forums I dont know.

Sky Poker have been taking players to Las Vegas since around 2009, & the qualifiers package usually includes £1,000 towards traveling exs (mainly air fare, obv), 7 nights in the 5 Star Palazzo Hotel, & entry to the Poker Tournament, either a WSOP Event or a Private SPT.

"Edge" at, say, SPT Manchester. Of course, it's up to you how you spend or justify spending your own money. However, measuring "edge" in an SPT is not correct. Mainly, it's a social occasion, a chance to meet many other players, both from Sky Poker & the wider poker community. It is NOT the sort of Tournament where one dons hoodie & shades & talks strategy, God forbid.

And most Sky Poker players who attend qualify for very little, of course.

There's no need to be bashful about discussing bowel evacuations on here, although you'll need to explain to me what keto is & what it has to do with anything. Is it some sort of cream?

PS - well done on your recent results/

I dont always entertain edge when I bet like I am guilty of the casual indulgence in sport betting from time to time. Basically if I am watching a basketball game I might bet money so I have something to cheer for etc but Bankroll management is still a thing I wont bet hundreds on a single bet for example usually a fiver per bet sometimes occasionally £10. I doubt I have an edge in sports betting it just makes the game more exciting.

I have IBS at one point I thought I had Bowl cancer as it can be a real issue at periods of time but I went for a colonoscopy and they found nothing. I thought it could still be Bowl cancer that wasnt spotted but as my Doctor pointed out years later if it had been Bowl cancer I would be dead right now.

I sometimes go for the ketogenic diet or I call Keto for short as this resolves my IBS to almost never flaring up, the issue with it is its a very restrictive diet so I never stick to it for long. Its basically you aim for most of your calories to come from fat and almost no calories from carbs.

How the **** does a post about the SPT turn in to an IBS thread...This forum deserves an award from someone somewhere :D .

    @HANSON

It is the firm intention to run SPT's on 2022. However, the recent surge in COVID is clouding the horizon - two of the venues we use regularly are currently closed (temporarily) due to COVID, & others may soon follow.

It definitely WAS the plan to start in February, but I suspect that has now been delayed.

If I can get a firm update, I'll let you know.

Happy New Year to you both

With it looking doubtful that there will be an SPT Live Tourney anytime soon, are there any plans for an SPT Online like last Year instead?

I think the 2-day weekend Tourney, (with satellites to it), went down really well last Year

    :)

If its a online SPT 2 day event then it will no doubt be 6 max not the same as a live event being 9 handed , I'm not very good at either format but if its live its more fun having a few days away , On a personal level would play a online SPT if it was a BH , but i definitely would take a live game as my 1st choice ,,,

I'll pass that up to James.

Currently, the plan to do the SPT is still in place, so I think they will want to try & stick with it if they can, even if it means a delayed start.
