Who won what, Tuesday 11th January - Summit goes to djsnorlax, Main to redeyedryu

Afternoon.

Numbers were OK, & there was no sign of that horrible Mr Overlay, but traffic has definitely levelled out this week as people return to work post Christmas.

The Djokovic saga in Australia rumbles on & on. There's no doubt in my mind he's been economical with the truth. If the authorities allow him to play there'll be a huge outcry from the Australian public, & quite rightly. He's chirping big time as he thinks he's got away with it. Let's hope he's wrong.

£700 7 @ 7 £973

£6,000 Gold Rush Main £7,110

£2,000 Mini £2,100

    7 at 7 Bounty Hunter (£973)

    SNOOPY616_ has made the 7 @ 7 FT on numerous occasions without winning it, but broke his duck last night. Single-tabled it too, as is his custom. Was 3rd in a £500 BH a few days earlier too.

    glencoelad made the 7 @ 7 Final for the 2nd straight night, 5th on Monday, 2nd last night. Had a bit of a nasty downswing back end of last year but hopefully the tide has turned now.

    £6,000 Gold Rush (£7,110)

    redeyedryu has taken 8 years to play just 85 MTT's here, but a closer look tells us he's probably top drawer. Played just 8 games without any success between 2014 & 2017 before disappearing & only returning 3 months ago. Whilst this was his first big win, he has two bigger cashes - 2nd in a Sunday Major in December for £2,200, then, later in the month, 3rd in a UKOPS HR for £2,300. If he decides to hang around, keep an eye on him. Sample size & all that, yeah, but 3 big scores in 85 outings means proceed with caution.

    2nd was a big result for zzgoose, who we don't often see in Main Events. Was runner-up in Reload the pervious night for £146, whereas 2nd here was worth £765. That'll do nicely.

    It was very much a case of the Usual Suspects for the rest of the FT - Monty15, Natnug, Neilio & PRhack93.

    @redeyedryu 2370000 1 £959.85 + £224.89 Head Prizes 6

    @zzgoose 0 2 £579.47 + £186.71 Head Prizes 6

    £2,000 Mini Gold Rush (£2,100)

    Mini winner melvin1958 has only troubled my radar once before, & that was when winning a £1,000 BH in November 2020 with a hot FT that included StayOrGo, MattBates & scotty77.

    £1,000 Mega Stack B/Hunter (£1,300)

    Killswitch took Mega. I seem to recall meeting him at Newcastle in SPT's twice - once in 2009, & again 4 years later. SPT's in Newcastle were always a little lively, some great characters up there. The cash games in particular were awesome, with characters like Lali, Stevie Liu, James Browning (or whatever name he was known by at the time) & Eric the Screw Barker. Those who have been in the game long enough will have great memories of Eric the Screw, what a guy he was (or is)...

    Runner-up was Potsnacker, just 24 hours after he won Monday's Main.

    @Killswitch 650000 1 £195 + £106.20 Head Prizes 5

    @Potsnacker 0 2 £130 + £61.18 Head Prizes 4

    @mma420 0 3 £78 + £63.41 Head Prizes 6

    @THETANK 0 4 £65 + £7.50 Head Prizes 1

    @chrisdonkb 0 5 £52 + £29.53 Head Prizes 3

    £6,000 Summit Bounty Hunter (£6,700)

    Summit eventually went to djsnorlax, a big result but only his third biggest. Best score was winning an Easter UKOPS HR for almost £7,000 last April, plus making two Sunday Major Finals - 3rd for £1,400 & 2nd for £2,800.

    Crushy was 2nd, the very much in-form Blaiseee 3rd & Dog Boke 4th.

    For most of the evening TommyD was leading the way so I was a little disappointed to check this morning & see he only finished 9th. Probably not as disappointed as him, though. Never mind, he'll feel better after Spurs beat Chelsea tonight.

    @djsnorlax 335000 1 £1239.50 + £586.21 Head Prizes 6

    @loololollo 0 2 £737 + £408.72 Head Prizes 5

    @Blaiseee 0 3 £502.50 + £187.50 Head Prizes 5

    £1,000 Turbo Bounty Hunter (£1,650)

    This was Leg 1 of a back-to-back double for M0RG4N4T0R, Turbo & Quickdraw. Every time I see his alias I'm reminded of the scene in Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid - "who is this guy?" Been here since 2018, but it's only very recently that he's hit the headlines, & in no time at all he's well on the way to completing a full set of Featured MTT's. Has now won a big Xmas UKOPS (£3,700), Mega, Sheriff, Turbo & Quickdraw.

    @M0RG4N4T0R 275000 1 £305.25 + £276.39 Head Prizes 10

    £1,000 Quickdraw (£11,780)

    And here he is again, Leg 2 of his 30 minute double.

    4th was Blaiseeee, who was also 3rd in Summit, won Sunday's Mini Major & Friday's Avenger Main.

    £1,000 Midnight Express B/Hunter (£1,040)

    LALLY310 took MidEx for the third time, & destroyed the field in stunning style. Clearly a Maths Guru in the craigCu12 style, made some breath-taking laydowns, including when getting better than 10/1 AND the chance of a head prize. Quite simply he made the rest of the FT look ordinary, which, to be fair, they were.

    Swog & Shrimpy, aka Little & Large, did their best but 3rd & 4th was the best they could hope for in this company.

    @LALLY310 156000 1 £192.40 + £163.61 Head Prizes 9

    @Nero543 0 2 £114.40 + £7.50 Head Prizes 1

    @Swog 0 3 £78 + £64.80 Head Prizes 7

    @Shrimpy28 0 4 £57.20 + £31.88 Head Prizes 4

    @micropro 0 5 £41.60 + £32.35 Head Prizes 3

    @utang 0 6 £36.40 + £36.09 Head Prizes 4

    This time last year...

    Includes this.....

    "It was made known yesterday that Sheldon Adelson had passed away. He was famous for 3 things really. 1) He was fabulously wealthy - supposedly the 30th richest individual on earth. 2) He founded & part owned -amongst much else - the Venetian/Palazzo complex in Las Vegas. 3) He strongly lobbied against Online Poker in the USA, which made him somewhat unpopular with poker players.

    So I sidled over to 2 + 2 to see what the reaction was, & the first post I read was;

    "Burn in **** Sheldon!"

    Then I looked on Twitter, & this was the first "tribute" I saw;

    "Sheldon is dead! He was a proud murderous scumbag. He wouldn't want your sympathy anyway, honor his life with virtually dancing on his rotting corpse!"

    I stopped looking then.

    Dislike the guy? That's fine, but celebrating his death is something altogether different. Poker players are very strange indeed."
