On the face of it, a surprise winner here as HHACKNEY, playing just his 59th game on Sky Poker in 6 years, took the £5k BH. On closer inspection though plays a fair bit of cash here.

In 2nd was one of the most improved MTT players on the site, JACKDAW. Rumour has it we may get to meet him at the SPT later this week.

Thanks @Jac35 . Sure thing, happy to explain!

As the in-position player, I didn't think it made any sense for him to play flush draws this way on the flop. We are deep enough where he can call flop, then continue to call and realise his equity on turns in position and see a river. So bloating the pot with draws as the in-position player doesn't really make sense.

Versus my check raise, I also think he would call all of his sets in position. He wants to let me 'catch up' with my bluffs (65, 64, J9, 98 etc will pick up equity on the turn which I'll barrel), and also not scare off my Tx hands which he has a complete lock against.

Even his gutshot hands like A4 and A5, or backdoor flush Ax hands aren't too incentivised to 3 bet, they can call in position because we are deep enough where they can draw to the nuts and they are ahead of all of my bluffs I listed above.

The range I gave him on the flop was some top pairs and overpairs that wanted protection (KT, AT, JJ, QQ), and then some airball bluffs which aren't able to continue v checkraise but don't want to fold.

Turn- my only option is to check call getting 8:1 against the range of hands above.

River- I've ruled out flushes and sets on the flop. He's never going to jam QQ or JJ on a flush completing turn then a K river. So the main question was does he jam KT? I wasn't even sure he would 3 bet the flop that wide for value, and I had a note stating he was capable of big bluffs. So his value range was basically too narrow against his air ball bluffs for me to fold.
