£10 Turbo DYM snap fold?

EnutEnut Member Posts: 3,272
I guess Kings are a snap fold here? Other two players have just over one BB each so in theory I can win by folding KK, unless they double up obviously.

You can't just call and give the big blind a chance to catch so it's either all in or fold and given that the big blind can afford to call any shove (although in this spot he shouldn't) and still have chips it's a shot to nothing for him. Obvs you will know more than me about his propensity to call a shove but for me with 2 players on life support folding the K K is a no brainer in this spot.

Of course, I'm not a very good player so take what I say with a large pinch of salt.

@Jac35 and @TheEdge949, thanks for your replies guys. I knew I should fold, but after an evening of nothing going right I'd thought I'd tempt the poker Gods one more time to see if they would stuff me on this one as well. I was expecting BB to have AA or, in fact, any A that would hit but no, he calls and turns over the massive Q9 off. An 855 rainbow flop made me think I might be safe, how silly of me.

Wow calls with that holding when 2 players have 1bb left. Is the villain a reg?, surely not.

    Yep reg and very profitable.

I,d call as the bb for metagame reasons/note equity. Think its worth way more than the few pennies you lose in game in the long run.

Horrendous call by the BB. Your jam is fine.

I dont claim to be the best at dons but my results have been improving.

In spots like this there is not actually a correct answer on just the information you have provided alone.

in theory if the BB was playing correctly according to Icmizer output you can shove much wider then just KK not crazy stuff K9 is at the bottom of your shoving range if they follow Icmizer to the latter.

Icmizer has its flaws for example it does not take future play into account though I think there is an option to try that?

but its a good rough guide.

in theory according to Icmizer they should be calling you with 99 AJs and AQ+ one could argue they should call tighter then that.

if you know as a fact that they will always call with Q9 suited+ then KK is a fold and the only hand you make a move with is AA.

a lot of don play is not about been theoretically correct but knowing your opponents. against certain players in certain spots you should be shoving much wider and against others you might think call very wide you should be shoving much tighter.

then there is how does play affect future spots? Eg If someone calls wider then they should some of the time then other regs see that maybe they dont shove as much as they should in theory and thus a calling wider could actually end up been plus ev assuming others see and adapt. I was recently called and eliminated in a game by 82 suited. although that was with 5 players left and with what I shoved with if there calling range is that wide I am making a profitable shove anyway.

so if you knew villain to be a calling station then yes this is a mistake. If you expected them to play Icmizer correct ranges then no its not.
