I was watching the Rangers game today and the commentator came away with " He's had 72 goal involvements in 110 games " when did this shyte creep into the vocabulary of a commentator, I was just getting used to " assists ", now I have to listen to more **** coming oot their mouths.

    I totally agree a commentator is there to commentate on the game, not trot out inane facts/stories. John Motson was the worse (though the media thought everyone loved him). He'd go off on a ramble that a players dad once owned a chip shop on Brighton sea front while a goal has been scored. Those type of commentators are great in a slow moving sport like cricket/golf etc but not football/rugby etc. I can just imagine Motson commentating on the Olympic 100m final it'd probably last longer than the Marathon commentary.
