Duplicate cards in play

Angela124Angela124 Member Posts: 69
I played a £3.30 Dym earlier on today and my whole cards were 7h 5h I folded pre flop but was amazed when the 5h came out first on the flop. I was playing on mobile as I was working (Or supposed to be) so couldn't chat to table to ask if they are seeing the same cards as I was.

This has never happened to me before but is a bit concerning. After I got home I checked hand history and it showed the 5h I seen on the flop as Qs but i couldnt ask the table if they also seen the 5h on the flop.
Luckily there was no action in this hand and it was not a memorable hand so dont' think anyone who played will remember it.

Has anyone else come across a situation like this or is it a one off glitch in the software?

P.s I was not under the influence of any substances :smiley:

    Turning on four colour deck solves this issue

    @Angela124

    Hi,

    No need to be concerned, the 5h you saw as the first card on the flop was almost certainly the PREVIOUS flop, & was caused by "latency".

    "the delay before a transfer of data begins following an instruction for its transfer.

    "poor performance due to network latency"

    I would not say it's common, but it can occur from time to time especially when using a Mobile Device with an intermittent or poor signal.

    PS - very pleased to hear you were not under any nefarious influence.

    Surely very easy to prove or debunk by looking at HH of previous hand???

    Thanks for comments @_Mr_Chips_ and the reply from @Tikay10

    I don't know how these things work but would have gladly taken your word for it @Tikay10 but when @_Mr_Chips_ suggested to check my curiosity got the better of me so checked and there is no 5h in the previous hand

    @Angela124

    I can't really explain it then.

    Be assured though, it's simply not possible that there are duplicate cards in the "deck". An online deck is not a deck at all, it's just computer code, & it can't ever change.

    PS; The Forum would be a whole lot busier if there were dupe cards. ;)

    It totally bemused me too i had to get my workmate to tell me what they seen on the screen. Wish I knew how to screen shot it before it moved to the next hand.
    As I said i've never seen it before so take it it's a 1 in a million glitch and i rarely ever play on my mobile.

    Thanks for comments tho much appreciated :smile:

    If you look closely at these hand histories you've confused diamonds with hearts/ spades with clubs.

    Sorry i should have said first of all, there is an option to play with a four colour deck which makes the game a lot easier to play, especially on mobile.

    @raggy94 Sorry I missed your original comment

    I hand on heart honestly did not confuse it, I showed it to my work mate and they seen the same thing as me a 5h was showing where the Qs was I defo wouldn't get the Qs confused with the 5h :(

    It must have been a glitch on my mobile.....I so wish I knew how to screen shot it at the time

    But guess I'll just have to settle with coming across as a crack pot lol :smiley:

    Either a latency glitch or a misread. Sounds like a latency glitch for you. I've not seen this in hundreds of thousands of hands on Sky (not Sky mobile) or millions of hands on other sites, but have had plenty of latency problems.

    I have made plenty of misreads online and a higher proportion of misreads live without having the hand constantly on show in front of me in four-coloured deck. Online, there's been a number of times I've been all in pre with A4o and seen others do the same.

    Thanks for the comments guys
    Maybe I have done a Robbi Jade Lew :joy:
    I also have never come across it before and I was in a remote part of the country at the time where the internet signal wasn't at full stregnth so makes sense
