Ford 'to relaunch the classic Capri': Iconic 1970s 'working man's Porsche' still loved by celebrities to get eco makeover as it returns after 40 years costing up to £40,000 and doing 0-60 in 6.4 seconds

Ford 'to relaunch the classic Capri' and give the iconic 1970s car an electric makeover
The classic Ford Capri is set to be relaunched with an eco-friendly makeover for the first time in 40 years. The iconic 1970s car - commonly referred to as the 'working man's Porsche' due to its affordability - is expected to cost roughly £40,000. It will be re-marketed as an electric sports crossover capable of reaching 0 to 62mph in about 6.4 seconds. Pictured: Some of the stars who fell in love with the Capri, including Harry Styles (top), and Jamie Oliver and Jimmy Doherty (bottom right). The car also famously appeared in Minder (bottom left).

£40K for a Capri ffs. No poor man's Porsche any more then is it ?

0-62mph in 6.4 isn't exactly Santa Pod stuff either.

Very tidy used 911 Carrera for about £25K is a better option and use the saving to pay for the insurance.

    Names are important.

Vauxhall spent some time wondering why the Nova wasn't selling well in Spain.

Until someone pointed out that in Spanish that was the "Vauxhall Won't Go " :)
