Morning.
This day last year
"Big congrats to @Micky382 who had easily his best ever result in winning Sharpy Main. Been here 6 years, & last night's win was twice as big as his biggest previous score, when he ran 6th in 2018 in something called the £20,000 Mega Mini. (Anyone remember that?). For a while it looked like @JACKDAW might take the win but he eventually ended up 6th. He seems to like this one.
In the Mini, @jason3107 took the top spot. Was just his 6th MTT this month, the previous 5 all being Freerolls, so this was quite a step up in class. @2Geronimo was runner-up.
The £1k BH went the way of @3265, who has won 7 @ 7 several times this year.
Last night's 7 @ 7 winner was @neenio, who is closing in on £100,000 of profits from Sky Poker MTT's. His best result was winning a £4,000 Freeroll to Las Vegas in 2017, & he's been runner up in the Major.
The @Jscorgie express shows no sign of slowing down, as he took Mega for the 2nd time this week. In the last 10 days he has won Mega twice, Turbo, Quickdraw, Sheriff, 1st & 2nd in Mains & 2nd in BWBH. Ridiculous.

This day TWO years ago
Morning.
It's an ill wind.... Whilst Storm Arwen was wreaking havoc across northern England & Scotland, Online Poker was maybe the only beneficiary, & that was the case last night as MTT traffic was decidedly sprightly.
Today's first task, as always, was to peruse the Forum wearing my Moderator's hat. Nutjob conspiracy theories - I'm sure they are getting worse - betting tips from someone who might just be the world's worst tipster, & a quite reasonable thread of chuntering about the Sky Poker software. Living the dream, me.
In sport, the Ashes loom ever closer - the first Test is December 8th - & yesterday England quickie Mark Wood said;
"It's one of the biggest things I can think about. Winning in Australia would be one of the biggest achievements of my career," he said.
The World Cup was huge, we've won the Ashes at home, but to go there...
To come up against this 'baggy green' thing that they keep talking about.
We'll be having our baggy blues on and I'd love to stick one up them."
A word of advice to Mr Wood. Stop running your mouth, it's the wrong thing, against the wrong opponent, at the wrong time.
(Australia won the 5 match Series 4-0).

The usual shortish Sunday morning whizz through.
Traffic was OK-ish, no more, no less.
Sharpshooter Main made what I thought was a reasonable £6,360, then I got quite a shock, as last year's renewal made £6,840, which was 8% better than last night. It was a very similar result in the Mini.
Commenting on the 7 @ 7, I said this;
@mainspring - one to watch?.
Which was a feeble attempt at a pun, but in fact it turned out to be quite prescient, as our watch component man @mainspring popped up with a timely Sharpshooter Main victory. It was his biggest win in 15,000 games here, the previous best being a 2020 UKOPS Mini in which @Shrimpy28 (remember him?) was 4th & @Angmar2626 5th.
Playing his first MTT session since UKOPS ended 3 weeks ago, @FeelGroggy looked like winning for much of the evening, but eventually had to settle for 3rd. He's been on the Forum a fair bit recently, dispensing valuable hand analysis advice, for which we should all be grateful. He comes along to most SPT's & is terrific company, unless you happen to share tables with him.
@JMH7 took the Mini. It was his 2nd Mini FT this month but he does his best work in Reload, in which he is a serial winner.
9 @ 9 went to @luckme002 who has numerous Main Event wins on his CV. Does well in high value UKOPS too. Rather oddly, has made the FT of all the scheduled £100-ers (Major, Summit & BWBH) but has yet to win one.
@winn10 took Turbo. Has made three Main Event FT's in the last 2 months & has won Avenger Main more than once.
After a 5 week absence @wallnutts returned with a flourish, booking a 7 @ 7 win. Has a dozen or more 4-figure cashes, the best of which was £3,800 for a 2015 Super Roller. In 2010 he took down a big televised MTT (Sky Poker TV) in which @dantb10 was 5th. There's a blast from the past, wonder what he's up to these days? Dan was a member of Team Sky Poker & came to Vegas with us in 2009 & ran deep (40th I think) in a WSOP $1,500 affair. That was the day @HAYSIE embarrassed us all by getting thrown out of the WSOP cardroom area. Last I recall, Dan had started a family, so I guess that put poker on the back-burner.
The SPT Semi ran for only the third time in 9 attempts, with @bigfatfish & @rafal booking their seats.
That will have to suffice for today, Sunday & all that.
