so i played the new hilo tourney, this hand came up.........
I felt the best hand the villain could have here was something like AK23, i thought once the turn hit I was a stick on for the high, anyone know the actual % ? The chances of him having a T or 8 in his hand to go with the likely Ace, must be really tiny, with his bet i was convinced he had a combo of an A with either a K/Q or J, and a flush and low draw.......I wanted him to pay for the draws or chance to make a full.........seeing that A8 I was pretty dissappointed, if the river hadda hit a king or queen and filled him up, i think i woulda been less dissappointed......do you think I played it ok? felt like i was a bit unlucky there.....anyone have any thoughts on it?

Here's the thing, in PLO8 an Ace is SO powerful (as it plays both ends) that folks never fold one pre. In fact back in the day, when poker was much nittier, the golden rule of O8 was never enter a pot unless you have an Ace in your hand. I think you have to assume he has an Ace in his hand, so your hand is super vulnerable.
i really felt holding the 8 plus the 2 Ts made me a favourite on that turn....without knowing his hand, for the high, obviously i knew i had no low/scoop.... i was getting ready to wish really hard on a 9.......then the cards turned over haha.
You were effectively dead after the Turn, short of rivering the case 10.
i can accept i played it poorly, probly shoulda folded it pre, just needed to get it out my head.......also think the play on the turn was pretty interesting, was raise or fold for me only....shoulda folded haha
How will sky cover their rent and wages without the rake monies?
