Questions about SPT Brighton

poppy765poppy765 Member Posts: 1,535
Hi, I'm hoping that someone familiar with SPT's can help me be a bit more prepared for Brighton,
I have a few questions...

Do I need to contact the casino to tell them I’m playing or do I just turn up?
How long will it take to register before play starts?

Is there a dress code? can I bring a bag?

If I crash out on the first day, can I buy in to day 1B at the casino?

Any other tips?

Thanks in advance :)

hi poppy, you just turn up With ID, passport / Driving licence and register with the casino.

Then get in a queue to get your chips.

If your there early-small queue-if late large queue.

    I take a ruck sack.

Dress code says smart but casual.

@mumsie seems to have answered most of your questions, but if there is anything else, or something you are unclear about, just let me know.

One thing you must do, above all else - as soon as you arrive, go to the Registration Desk to register for the tournament. Until you do that, you will NOT be in the Tournament even though you've qualified.

PS - yes, if you bust on Day 1a (Friday) you can buy in again for day 1B (Saturday) at the Venue.

Unless the rules have changed, you can also re-enter once per day.

So you can use 2 bullets on the Friday, and 2 on the Saturday.

Another quick question, how do the Big blind antes work?
Does everyone chip in or is it a specific player?

    @poppy765

It's called "Big Blind Ante" as ONLY the player in the Big Blind has to pay the Ante.

It's one of the best innovations in Live Poker in years, it speeds things up enormously as when each player has to ante players forget & it takes an age. Takes a bit of getting used to though, as the player in the BB in effect has to put his Blind in TWICE - the BB, & the Ante - so when you are getting short of chips, it's something to keep an eye on.
