    Exactly this.

    If this child had made a 1-off transaction, I would have sympathy for these parents.

    But that is not what happened. Whole bunch of transactions. Over a 3-month period. Large sum of money involved. Bank statements ignored by the parents.

    There are times when parents get left exposed by failure to adapt to new technology. And there are times when rank stupidity and/or wilfully turning a blind eye amounts to bad parenting bordering on a safeguarding issue.
