Is Sky Poker the WORST software on the market?

NicholaiNicholai Member Posts: 1
Despite being in 2025, Sky Poker still feels like it's stuck in the past. The site lacks essential features like run-it-twice, re-entries, and the ability for users to set their own deposit limits — instead, it's limited to basic block options. What's more, the most popular cash games revolve around 10 big blind spin-ups, attracting a crowd of degenerate gamblers. Compounded by the fact there's no chat MODS so profanity is literally in every game. With outdated software and minimal player-friendly features, Sky Poker is easily one of the worst platforms on the market today. What so you think?

It really does have the feeling of a site that would benefit from joining somewhere like ipoker sooner rather than later doesn't it.

    @edrich

    lol, that's a 9/10 minimum, WP WP.

Sadly, I fear it may be a tad too subtle for our friend.

Why do people moan about whats wrong with Sky but still play on it, if ah didnae like a site ah wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

    You & me too Rab.

If I don't like the way Tesco treat me, I go to Sainsburys. That's how it works with normal thinking people I'd assume.

As for complaining about Deposit Limits, if we play profitably, Deposit Limits are not an issue...

Why is run it twice and why are re-entries essential? A lot of recs don't want either of those things. Hence why the 10bb games are popular (note: a lot of the best regs play those games as well, because they get deep quickly and the rakeback is good at high volume).

Sky is a site that is affiliated with Sky Bet and the games are tailored accordingly. Note that HU is still a thing here, which has been removed from most sites. And most sites have problems: I've been playing fast fold recently on 888 and it regularly jams and requires a table reload, often on my bb. I've never had that in hundreds of thousands of hands on Sky.

The chat box and forum is what makes Sky IMO. Both items generate loyalty. The chat is good for some light hearted chat needling, jokes and genuinely getting to know the people you are playing with. Plus it's a great way to keep the recs happy and redepositing if they are enjoying themselves.

I agree about the simplicity of Sky. For all the software hiccups, think we'll certainly miss the "old Sky" when the move happens in June. The forum will be a huge loss and I hope someone can perhaps start up a new website forum to keep the community together.

Over the weekend, I was perusing a couple of other poker sites and their lobbies. Maybe it's because I'm too used to Sky, but the lobbies on the other sites just seemed a lot more cluttered, hard to filter properly, and difficult to get used to. Think I'll definitely struggle to adapt to the iPoker transition in a few months time.

The other thing on the other sites?

Avatars? Throwing stuff?? No chat but options to rail people with preset abuse???

I agree with the simplistic look brigade.

One of the things that will be my deal breaker with IPoker is if there are throwables and bells and whistles at the table I wont be able to to stomach it.

Ill want this look as plain possible , no links to roulette or any other ****.

If IPoker decides to have the distractions, I wont mind so long as we can turn them off .

He's been watching too much live poker where it now seems the norm to run it twice. I can see the rationale behind it when there's huge sums of money at stake, but not on here where it's just a few quid for most people.

From what I've seen of Nicholai, his software is even worse...
