"MTT numbers were surprisingly good considering we are now in mid March, although it's inevitable that some of the bigger guarantees will be cut soon, as they always are at this time of year. Lots of unusual winners last night, so I'll try & namecheck as many as I can. No disrespect to the regular "big hitters" but I run out of things to say about them when they do well so often.
@welshy1078 took the Main. Only two previous wins I could trace were Sheriff & Turbo, both in 2022. A very infrequent player these days, last night was just his 8th MTT since November. The clues were in the formbook though, at the end of February he was 9th in Hitman, & on Sunday he ran 12th in the £6k BH. Runner-up @Uarebumboy continued his fine run, 2nd, he's already won a Main this year (Marksman), as well as wins in Quickdraw, Mega & MidEx. Dark horse @BillyPckle was 3rd, having won last Friday's BWBH, with "The Drone" @HAYSIE in 6th.
In the Mini, @AlexaAJ booked the win, as well as 2nd in Turbo, & @bbMike was 4th after a very busy night in which he was 0/14 in All-In Sats.
Congrats to @snoxx11 who won 9 @ 9 for the 2nd night on the spin. His clam to fame is winning Summit twice in 4 weeks in the Spring of 2018.
After being AWOL for two weeks @Bettws1966 sprung a bit of a surprise by suddenly showing up and 1-tabling the £1k BH all the way to 1st place. Only other thread mention was 2nd in Mini Gold Rush exactly a month ago.
After 5 years with Sky Poker, @Edsfish had their maiden victory when taking down the £500 BH, though they've made a few assorted FT's.
Perseverance paid off for @clayman7 who played Reload the last 4 nights, finishing 83/196 on Sunday, 148/182 on Monday, 56/158 on Tuesday and - yes, you've guessed it - 1st last night.
@Blainaboys is not a player many of us know but he has a remarkable record in the Turbo, winning it for the third time in 2024 last night, as well as running 2nd & 6th in the last month.
MidEx went to @Poker_Joe which goes some way towards making up for his third place in it 48 hours earlier.
With the late stages of the CL on TV, including the tie of the round in Liverpool v PSG, numbers were expected to be low & so it proved, with overlay coming in at £1,163 across 6 of the events. Worst offenders were Main (£390), Summit (£300) & Reload (£216).
The Main went to @loosecamel. He played just 6 MTT's last night, winning the Main, 2nd in Turbo, 7th in Mega & 8th in Quickdraw. Been here 7 years & plays a LOT of cash, in fact historically around 95% of his play is at the cash tables, despite which 40% of his profit comes from MTT's. He really is having a remarkable 2025 in MTT's, we are not in mid March yet & his 2025 results include 1st & 2nd in Mains, 2nd, 2nd, 3rd & 6th in Sunday Majors, 1st in BWBH, 1st in Sheriff four times, 1st in Quickdraw & 1st in Turbo three times. Probably makes out he does not like MTT's but secretly loves them. 2nd 3rd & 4th last night were @reeler@MrDooWop & @destinycod. Incidentally, I believe @destinycod may have been the last person ever to buy a pint of Guinness at Brighton Rendezvous, which apparently closed it's doors for good after we departed on Sunday.
Rather like a racehorse dropped from Group Class to selling plates, @Swifteyyeu won the Mini having mixed it with the big boys in Sheriff 24 hours earlier. At Mini stakes he's a good bet. 2nd was @Sharki0 with @powley0505 running 3rd in what was just his 7th MTT since the 1st of February.
@TONY509won a £110 Summit seat for £24 in a satellite then went on to win Summit itself, taking home just over £1,400. 2nd to 5th were very much a bunch if Usual Suspects, but there was a big surprise in 6th which went to @TheDon009. It was his first MTT here for 5 months, his 2nd since June 2023, & 7th MTT since January 2023.
Last Autumn @STUNTMAN won the £800 BH, he's not made many headlines since but he won it again last night. 5th was @Traianus1who went on to win MidEx a few hours later, with @MAXALLY in 6th. Later in the evening @MAXALLY qualified for the Vegas Semi. Guess we'll not see him tonight as Stoke City are at home to Blackburn Rovers. An away banker if ever I saw one.
@kiankate had played just one MTT here this year, some 7 weeks ago, before suddenly popping up last night & winning 7 @ 7.
9 @ 9 fell to @bar4004 who won a Main last Summer, & if we roll back the years to 2014 he won a share of the FTJ (5th & 4th) & then won the Super Roller a few weeks later.
Reload went to @ughx3000cx who had already won two MidEx's two Megas, two 9 @ 9's & a Reload in 2025.
The most eye-opening performance of the night was surely @The_Patto. Last MTT played here was in June 2020 - almost 5 years ago - but he showed up last night & won a £300 BH then followed that with 1st place in Turbo. Guess we'll not see him again now until ~2030.
Just 48 hours after taking down the Sunday Major @ChipDiddy0 was in the winner's enclosure again, Quickdraw this time. I don't know the chap but judging by his table chat he's no shrinking violet. Very good player though.
After a deep run in Monday's Mini, @Traianus1 won last night's MidEx. Has barely troubled these threads in the past though did make a Reload FT last week, & was 5th in last night's £800 BH.
