This day last year
"MTT Traffic was probably about where expected for the time of year, with the Main just about covering, most other stuff too though there was some scattered bits of overlay. Clock go forward next weekend (= "lighter nights") so some guarantees are likely to be adjusted, as always at this time of year. Amazing how quickly the seasons whizz round, & before we know it, Autumn will be here & they'll head back north again.
@PokrFreak won the Main, just a few days after taking down Turbo, won a Mega last month too. Been here just over a year & I'm pretty sure last night was a PB. 2nd was @alfarch30 & in third was @DUTCHESS62 who we have barely seen for the last 10 days. 4th was @FlynTimber who won the Mini the previous night. @FlynTimber needs to improve his timing, 1st & 4th on the same night is worth an extra £750 from the FTJ, 24 hours apart it's worth zip.
I suppose a similar comment could be applied to @Limp2Lose who won last night's Mini just 48 hours after running 2nd in the Main. Do that on the same night & it would be worth an extra £2,500.
Congrats to @Terrie who won Mega for the 2nd time in 48 hours. Presumably is a decent PLO8 player too as they won the nightly PLO8 earlier this year.
Tuesday's Quickdraw winner @al393 took a thinly populated Sheriff with @Thoich 2nd & @Tedson 3rd. Completing a big-hitter 2-3-4 was @NChanning but sadly, with just 16 entries he was paid zilch.
Nice work by @scuba61 who dived in for exactly one MTT last night - Quickdraw - & won it.
MidEx went to @JohnDoo for the 2nd time this week.
The new £400 PLO8 came up slightly shy of guarantee, but hopefully not terminally so. Was a fun FT, when I last looked there were 4 left, @Thoich was leading with @bbMike in 4th but it must have all kicked off afterwards as @bbMike ended up 1st and @Thoich 4th, with @ImAmug & @Bingo321x sandwiched between them in 2nd & 3rd. @StayOrGo & @Jessieak completed a surprisingly high quality FT considering it was just a tenner affair. Earlier in the evening when I popped in to take a look @pompeynic was leading the way, but it seems he met with an accident & eventually finished 12th.
@juk joined Sky Poker around 10 months ago. Very little has been seen of them since, no cash action & just ~30 MTT's, only one of which was this year. However, that all changed last night when they logged in to play the £1k Rebuy BH & finished in first place for some £250.
An almost identical tale in 7 @ 7 where @fitza89 took the win, having been here just 3 months & played a mere 20 MTT's.
@gobbleoff took down the 9 @ 9. If the name rings a bell, maybe it's because he ran 2nd in the Sunday Major the weekend before last, which was their biggest ever result, last night being their 2nd biggest. Nice work Mr Off."

Not a good night at all last night, with overlay occurring in 8 of the featured MTT's & totalling some £1,273, with the worst culprits being Main (£400), Sheriff (£200), Reload (£135), and Turbo & Quickdraw (£160 each). And we can't really blame televised football, as the only domestic or European televised action was a Women's CL match. Not knocking Women's football, not at all, but viewing figures at present are very low indeed. The nights are getting lighter, though I'm not sure that made much difference either. Worth noting that the clocks change on Sunday week (= more daylight hours) so that will most definitely impact online poker numbers. Amazing how quickly the seasons come & go, it barely seems a few months since we were eagerly anticipating Winter.
What a year @FlynTimber is having, & they added another Main to their 2025 CV last night. These days pretty much only plays Main & Mini most nights, plus the £100ers & the Sunday night £5k BH. This year's haul already includes 1st in a BWBH, & 1st in two Mains. An oddity to their stats is that they have had four 4th place finishes in biggies (2 in Mains, two in Sunday night £4k BH's). Seems a decent sort if his Table Chat is anything to go by. In 3rd was @bensons22 who is another having a good year, & in the last month alone has run 3rd in as Major & twice won Quickdraw. 4th was @7omos who later went on to win MidEx for the 2nd time in 4 nights.
Mini winner @grandpabak is a real Sky Poker trooper, been here 17 years, played 24,000 games (of which around a third were DYM's) & has always made a small but consistent profit. The perfect recreational really, plays for fun, wins a few bob & seems to actually enjoy playing. Best ever result was 6th in a 2016 "Summer Series", which I'm struggling to remember, though it had a few decent players on the FT including @rspca12 & Melty.
Much the same could be said about 7 @ 7 winner @stuart43 who has "only" been here 12 years or so but again is a small but consistent winner. The amount of loyalty by Sky Poker players is extraordinary, for all the moaning & groaning the vast majority of the player base are amazingly loyal.
£800 BH winner @johnnyy has made himself scare on Sharky so we don't have much info but I can tell you he does very well indeed at the stakes he plays.
@gogogadget had his best score of the month last night when winning Mega, having already run 2nd in a Mini, 3rd in Reload & won a seat in a Sunday Major Freeroll. Tends to bink something decent most years, in '23 it was a Gold Rush Main & last year he won a Sharpy Main.
@GOONER72 made a welcome but rare visit to the winner's enclosure in the 9 @ 9. Rarely wins anything but regularly finishes top 4.
Reload went to @beanie. If only he'd win three in a row I'd have a puntastic headline.
Remarkably, Quickdraw went to @Limp2Lose for the third time already this month. Won Avenger Main last Friday too.
As noted earlier, after running 4th in the Main, @7omos won MidEx for the 2nd time in 4 nights (mornings...). @River_Fox can never be accused of lacking stamina, was on site from around midday until the early hours. Did OK too, 2nd in a £100 Timed, 6th in a £250 BH, 4th in a £500 BH, 6th in MidEx, & won a £55 Sheriff seat in a £3 All-In sat & which I believe they turned into cash.
I'm done. The weather is expected to be glorious today, so get out there & enjoy it.
