This day last year

"Traffic-wise the big news was the £1,000 Quickdraw making £2,080, I can't imagine that's happened very often at this time of year. On the flip side, the £5,000 guarantee BWBH missed by £600.

We saw two standout performances by players last night, & let's start with @bigfatfish. He had that rarest of beasts, a win treble, comprising Avenger Main, 9 @ 9 & Quickdraw. And if that were not enough, alongside his MTT schedule he played no less than 90 (NINETY) DYM's. Us mere mortals can but admire. In 4th place in the Main was @Vertigo who might be deemed a bit unlucky, as he was 7th in the Mini so narrowly missed out on some FTJ action. @UnEuropean who ran 2nd in Tuesday's Summit was 5th.

The other stunning achievement, was by @Asho28. It was his 2nd Mini win this week, as he also took Monday's Mini. And on both nights, he also won the £300 BH that kicks off at 5.30pm. It was also the 2nd straight night he's won two MTT's. So that's THREE times this week he's won two MTT's. Well done Champ, thoroughly deserved.

Dog Bloke @rspca12 won the BWBH, having won his seat via a £24 satellite. He has a tremendous CV here (& elsewhere) and on Sky Poker he has TWO wins over £5,000 (Super Roller & UKOPS) & half a dozen over £4,000. Once he gets a stack he must be a nightmare to play against.

The @Limp2Lose roadshow continues, & he won Turbo. Prior to last night, in the previous 3 nights he'd won the Mini, 2nd in Main, 3rd in Summit & 2nd in Turbo.

@CENSORED won Reload, he seems to do especially well in that.

@scuzza, playing just his 7th MTT of 2024, won the £1k BH.

We are used to seeing @ratfish doing well in the PLO8 stuff, but last night he switched formats & won the £1k Rebuy BH.

That'll have to do for today, Saturday & all that. A special well done to both @bigfatfish & @Asho28 for their outstanding results."

Morning.

MTT traffic was very light again. No televised football of note (surely nobody watches Nations League qualifiers, do they?) so I assume it's time of month. As I've noted previously, Deposit Limits are now strictly enforced, & only reset on the 1st of the month, so many players simply run out of money by this time of the month. I don't KNOW that's the reason, but that's my guess.

@235467 has plenty of great scores on his CV, including at least 6 four-figure cashes, but I doubt he's had a more prolific night than last night when he made 5 FT's & had at least 6 cashes. Best of the lot was winning the Main, but on top of that he was 3rd in the £800 BH, 3rd in the Rebuy BH, 1st in a little PLO affair, 4th in Turbo & nicked £20 in the Rewards Freeroll. One of those nights for him, & great to see. 2nd was @Bensons22 & curiously he did veery well too, with 5 FT's - Main (2nd), Turbo (2nd), Rebuy BH (4th), £300 BH (1st) & another £300 BH (2nd). He & @235467 actually shared 2 FT's - Main & Turbo. Very well done to them both.

Mini winner @LeZilla had a most interesting day. Last 6 games comprised 2 MTT's, running 6th in a £300 BH & winning the Mini, & he played 4 DYM's (1 x £3, 3 x £5) & won all 4. Nice.

Continuing the theme of "multi-winners" last night @NIVVYDOH came to the party too - 3rd in a £300 Rebuy, won a seat to the Main in a satellite, 6th in the Rebuy BH, 5th in the 19.18 PLO8, 8th in the Main & then capped it all off by winning Mega.

But wait, there's more - @MattBates won a seat to the Main, was 1st & 3rd in two £300 BH's, 6th in Turbo, 1st in Quickdraw & 3rd in MidEx. He's not a million miles off £400,000 in Sky Poker profit now.

Must be great to have the occasional night like those lads had, & it makes up for those long bad runs we all have from time to time.

And now for yet another oddity, similar in a way. @harry18110 tends to just play ONE MTT per night, & for the last 3 nights it's been 7 @ 7. Results for those 3 attempts? 4th on Tuesday, 2nd on Wednesday, 1st on Thursday. Hard to imagine anyone beating that sequence in any MTT that has ~100 runners.

@snoxx11 is on a great run, in the last week alone he's won 9 @ 9 (last night), won Reload & been 2nd in Avenger Main. So that means this month he's won 9 @ 9 twice & Reload twice. Seems to be a mid-evening man.

And one more sequence - @utang won MidEx for the 3rd time inside a fortnight. Loves the late night stuff it seems to me.

After barely playing in his 12 years here last Saturday @breakbad won Sharpy Main, & he was back again last night, this time winning Turbo.

@Asho28 won Rebuy BH, & as it happens, it's exactly a year ago today I wrote this....

Tonight's traffic? Well it's England (world-ranked 4th) v Albania (World-ranked 65th) in a Group K World Cup Quallie tonight. Quite why anyone, anywhere, ever, would spend their Friday evening watching that remains a mystery to me, but plenty will, so MTT traffic might be thin again.

Stick a fork in me.
