While any number of recreational poker players repeatedly say they are the unluckiest people in the world, well over 1,000 are dead in the Myanmar earthquake, & of course 50,000 - FIFTY THOUSAND - civilians have been killed in Gaza. Poker players are a weird bunch, aren't we?

This day last year

"Today's excuse is that it's Easter Sunday, so just a brief write-up. Liverpool v Brighton kicks off at 2pm, Man City v Arsenal at 4.30pm, then the golf from Houston. What a life, huh?

MTT traffic was "ok", with the Main coming in bang on the guarantee number, & that summed up the night really. The clocks have gone forward though, & it'll be light until nearly 8pm this evening, so we can expect online poker traffic to be adversely affected from now until late Autumn. Can't be helped. Oddly, it does not seem to affect "live" poker, & I see there were huge numbers over the weekend at the Irish Open.

That £6,000 Main that made exactly £6,000 went to @StayOrGo & it was the third Main he's won this month - Marksman, Gold Rush & now Sharpshooter. His list of achievements here on Sky Poker would take me all day to type out & I'm sure I've repeated them several times, but I did notice one oddity - he's only won the Sunday Major once, & that was almost 5 years ago. My theory is that he probably plays most of his volume elsewhere on a Sunday, 'Stars maybe. Be cool if he won it tonight though. 2nd was last Sunday's MidEx winner, @Gas77 & in 5th was @lukeylund9 who went on to win a £500 BH.

Welcome to the thread @Ehhh who has been here just over a year but played very little, & who broke his duck by winning last night's Mini. Almost always confines himself to plying either Mini or Reload - sometimes both - & as far as I can tell, this was his first win.

The Beast that is @loololollo had another good night, winning both Sheriff & 7 @ 7 & running 2nd in the Rebuy BH. His overall numbers are sensational. We know that Sharky figures have to be taken with a pinch of salt, but they have him down as the first or second "Most Profitable MTT-er on Sky Poker" for the last 7 years, with a 35% ROI at an ABI of £18 over a 52,314 game sample. Total profit made on Sky Poker? £397,498, so the £400,000 is probably just a week or two away. Stunning, simply stunning. In reality, his actual profit is likely a good bit less than that, as Sharky compile their numbers in a weird way, but however you look at it, he's bare wicked.

@Drumcrow has played just three MTT's in the last 4 days, managing a 2nd on Wednesday, another 2nd on Friday, & the deserved win last night in the Rebuy BH.

One for the notebook is @Monster78 who has been here just over a week, played just 11 MTT's & had their 2nd win last night. The first was a £150 BH on Tuesday, then last night won his first Featured MTT, the £1k BH.

There was a maiden win for @vernon1990 who came out best in Reload.

Morning.

Quite a decent night really, with overlay confined to a grand total of £100 - exactly one entry - in the BWBH. Result.

@shad8604 took down the Avenger Main. Last Autumn he ran 6th & 2nd in the two Hitmans to pick up some FTJ cash. @Upswing has had a very pleasing March, won Sharpshooter Main last Saturday, was 2nd in the same event two weeks earlier, & was 6th in last night's Avenger. @JammyFker was 8th which, as we shall see, turned out to be an unfortunate possy to bust.

Delighted to see one of the really good guys bink the Mini, so well done Shane @JammyFker. Unforch, he just misses out on a FTJ cash as he was a tantalisingly close 8th in the Main. Splits his play roughly 50/50 between Cash & MTT/DYM's, though seems to do particularly well at MTT's. He was 5th in the Rebuy BH too.

BWBH went to @10l0l1i0T which is annoyingly difficult to read or type, almost impossible to tell the difference between the letter "O" & the number "0", ditto "l" "i" & "1". Obv, the player did it deliberately, so as to confuse. Succeeded too, didn't he just? As far as I can tell it's his best ever score, though to be fair its hard to search that alias for the reasons already explained. The rest of the FT was composed of the usual heavy-hitters.

Earlier this week I regaled you with a story & thread about @TwinTilyTu after he won Tuesday's Mini, well he won again last night, this time the £800 BH. Used to be mostly a HU player but no idea if that's still the case, or whether he managed to get the Staking he was asking for. No disrespect intended, but I'd be amazed if he did given all the circumstances. HU players are hardly likely to stake their opponents, especially if they refuse to open up their Sharky.

7 @ 7 went to @MARK277 less than a week after he picked up an FTJ min cash for 6th & 6th in Sharpy Main & Mini. I notice he was not far off another FTJ on Tuesday when he was 13th in the Main & 9th in the Mini.

@MattBates played a full sesh & bit went quite well - 1st in MidEx, 4th in Turbo, 2nd in 7 @ 7 & won himself a BWBH seat via a satellite. Sharky state his Sky Poker profits to be £398,463, so he's very close to the rarely seen £400,000 mark. I don't really have a feel for how many Sky Poker players have breached £400,000 of MTT profits. @loololollo is at around £440,000, but I'm struggling to think of any others who might be above £400k. For context, @Natnug is a nadge north of £200,000. Just a novice.

After running 4th in Tuesday's Rebuy BH @fl4n took the win last night. Playing MTT's for the first time in a week, @bbMike was 4th then finished 3rd in Reload.

At the stakes he plays (ABI ~£8) @utang is a winning machine, & in taking Mega he won his 6th MTT inside a week - MidEx, 7 @ 7, MidEx, 2 x £200 BH's & a £150 BH. Is now within a whisker of £50,000 of Sky Poker MTT profits with a 36% ROI.

Last July @hdgggi signed up & insta made a 9 @ 9 FT & has barely been seen or troubled the thread since, just 50 MTT's, but he reappeared last night to win 9 @ 9 this time.

@thedazzman took Reload, he's another really good guy, and has a 47% ROI over a 7,000+ sample size. That's good, v good.

Big Boy Watch? Apart from those mentioned, @Sharki0 took Turbo & @bigfatfish Quickdraw.

@glencoelad binked himself a Sunday Major seat in the Freeroll, gl tomorrow night mate.
