  I thought this was a late April Fools Day post when I saw it but apparently it's a genuine thing in Australia, to save space they wall mount the drier and upside down so people can still reach the controls. The reason for the gap between these two appliances is that the previous washing machine used to be a top loader, so they needed the space to load the machine.

  Another April Fools post I've only just seen, this is a good one.
  
  
  
  On April Fools’ Day 1974, a man hauled 70 tires into the crater of a dormant volcano in Alaska and set them on fire, terrifying nearby residents into thinking the volcano was erupting again.
  
  This prank took place at Mount Edgecumbe near Sitka, Alaska. The fake eruption created widespread panic among the local population, who feared a real volcanic disaster. Emergency services were alerted, and the prank was only revealed once it was clear there was no actual threat.
