This day last year
"Champions League & Championship football on TV probably impacted numbers last night, with the Main coming in a horrible £620 short, plus there were a few other bits & bobs of overlay. Tonight we have to compete with Liverpool, West Ham & Villa all playing in Europe & "live" on TV, plus of course Day One of the Masters, though the last-named looks like it might suffer from bad weather & could even be delayed. What a time to enjoy sport, we've got the sharp end of the football season, Masters golf, & the Aintree meeting which includes the Grand National on Saturday. We've never had it so good & still folks moan.
@ILIKE2FISH took the Main & I'm pretty sure he's a popular winner, he seems a decent chap. He went on run 4th in the Mini, so that means he gets a £750 bonus from the Final Table Jackpot too. Won his Main event seat in a £7.20 satellite & just for rubs he won a semi-final seat in the Vegas Quarter, & in doing so became the first "dupe" of the 2024 Las Vegas satellite programme. Not a bad night for him one way or another.
The Mini was won by the prolific @elvisg1972 but there's not much I can tell you about this particular Elvis as he's not on Sharky, except to say he's been here 12 years & looks as if he's very profitable in MTT's.
As I mentioned yesterday, @Vertigo is really finding his stride & he clocked in with another win last night, the £1,000 Rebuy BH his time. The previous night he won 9 @ 9, he ran 5th in Predator Main last week, & he's made the last two Sunday Major FT's, finishing 3rd & 6th. We met him at an SPT last year when he ran 2nd, & in most respects he's seems a very likeable & personable chap. "Most respects"? Well he says he has "a place in his heart" for Mike Matusow, who might jus be the most morally bankrupt & obnoxious pro player in poker ever, & that's an epically high bar. That's a very weird take indeed by our Shropshire friend.
The 19.35 £500 BH went to our Edinburgh-based friend @glencoelad. He & his good lady @dameflop love their poker, Live & Online & they usually show up at the Irish Open every year. His biggest win here on Sky Poker was a boomlet Sunday Major in April 2019 which was worth over £4,000 to Geo's coffers.
It's been a while since we've seen @MrDooWop in these threads but he returned in style last night by taking down Sheriff.
One to keep an eye on is @billtackle who has been here many years but has suddenly started winning bigger stuff. Last night he won 9 @ 9, just 24 hours after taking down 7 @ 7, & a week after he won the 19.35 £500 BH.
@dukeyfluke does not play too often, just 8 MTT's in the last 2 months, & playing for the first time in over a fortnight, took last night's Turbo.
Plenty of Usual Suspects secured wins - @Arrogant (£1k BH) @Super_Oli (7 @ 7), @Morris707 (Reload) & @Woebegone (Quickdraw).
Was great to see @tomb1793 win a seat to the Major in the Freeroll. Mr Tomb is a smashing fella, and I'm confident he'll give a good account of himself on Sunday.
Another good turnout in the Vegas Quarter, 23 last night, two better than Tuesday. Semi-Final seats went to @aynaricol @Super_Oli and @Morris707 with @ILIKE2FISH being the first dupe this year. It's already looking like Sunday's Semi will be a belter.

Arsenal v Real Madrid promised to be (& was) one of THE great games of the season so no surprise that the early evening stuff suffered a little. Surprisingly little overlay actually, just £253 (£25 in £800 BH, £63 in 7 @ 7, £135 in Mini & £30 in 9 @ 9). Good result really, both for Sky Poker & of course enormously so for Arteta's Army. Arsenal fans gave us repeated renditions of "Are you Tottenham in disguise?" which was both apt & amusing.
Gold Rush Main went to @Hoff92 who has a glittering CV here including one of the very few players who have won the full £5,000 FTJ which he did in 2019, & not only that, he did it on a Friday (Avenger night) which is surely the most difficult night to do it. Has won everything here including several UKOPS & Majors. Later last night he ran 3rd in Summit. 2nd in last night's Gold Rush Main was @Jscorgie who has a 33% ROI on a £37 ABI which is mightily impressive. @ufud was 3rd, the same spot he finished in Mini Hitman last Thursday.
The Mini had a surprisingly tough FT with @Fabraclass grabbing 1st place. He gets the nod as last night's star turn with THREE featured MTT wins - 7 @ 7, Mini & Quickdraw - a treble I can't recall ever being achieved previously. 2nd was @ScottyKaye who I'm quite sure has never been accused of handling adversity well. @spearsy136 achieved the rare trick of finishing 3rd in the Mini for two nights on the spin, & for good measure he won the Rebuy BH too. Without wishing to BSUHA he really is an exceptionally talented recreational. Another who seems to be getting ever better is @blablabla who was 5th in the Mini, 2nd in 7 @ 7 & 6th in 9 @ 9. One to keep man eye on. Finally, @TONY509 was 6th & as he also made the Main FT (5th) he collects a £75 FTJ cash bonus.
Summit went to @Swifteyyeu who puts me in mind of Harry Potter. Seems to have a decent grasp of the game though. He won seats to both Gold Rush Main & Summit via satellites last night, finishing 12th & 1st respectively. Summit last night was his 3rd biggest result all-time, the best being ~£4,500 for a 2023 UKOPS Main. 2nd was @style2737 with @Hoff92 3rd. In 5th was @NChanning who was also busy researching the Masters Golf odds so he can maybe put us on a few value bets this evening. Incidentally, an interesting (?) stat about @style2737 is that between last Friday & last night he played all three £110ers on Sky Poker, finishing 5th in BWBH, 4th in the Major & 2nd in last night's Summit. He's a prolific winner in the "Live" arena too, his Hendon shows cashes in excess of a million dollars, much of it from overseas including USA & Australasia.
Congrats to @BAT722 who has been with us on & off since 2008 & likes to play the early evening stuff, especially the £800 BH. Won it a few times in the past & did so again last night. Well done Batty Bloke.
@Bee94Dee who won the Rebuy BH early last month & was 2nd in the Rewards Freeroll last Wednesday moved up a notch to win last night's Mega.
9 @ 9 went to @SEGAL33 & revealed an unusual winner's profile - seemed to have signed up 8 years ago but had never played anything (cash, SNG's or MTT's) until last night, when he played two MTT's - Mini & 9 @ 9 - winning the latter.
@zelda007 logs in every 2 or 3 nights & usually just plays Reload. Was 4th in it a few weeks ago & last night went all the way.
10 days ago @Dooney just missed out on a Mini Major FT but last night he upgraded to the £33 Turbo and despite a very strong FT indeed he raced to the win.
@7omos must be of a nocturnal nature as he only plays late night stuff & he does especially well in MidEx which he won again last night.
