i noticed they got much longer prison sentences then others who were convicted for very similiar offences its good that our justice system is improving.

US paedophile flew to Wales to ‘marry’ schoolgirl

An American paedophile who flew to Wales to marry a schoolgirl he met online has been jailed for more than seven years.

Jacob Ewing from Hubert, North Carolina, was arrested at Cardiff airport with a pair of wedding rings, a knife and a wooden cosh stashed in his luggage.

The 44-year-old was also found to be in possession of several child abuse images, including one of a baby being raped.

It emerged that Ewing had travelled more than 3,700 miles to abuse a 15-year-old girl he had met on an internet video chat website that connects users randomly.

He had told the teenager, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, that he was a “paedophile hunter” and a Christian.
