Picture Quiz. "Please take care".

My local GP Surgery has a little box for posting "Repeat Prescriptions". Just pop the prescription in the box, saves queuing at the counter. What could be easier?

For context & scale, here it is, the little red box in the middle, between the two doors.

"Please take care when posting prescriptions".

The very obvious question is, take care of what? What exactly might happen if we don't post it carefully?

We miss the slot, & that prescription - a small, single piece of paper - drops on our foot?

I know that Elf & Safety is a comedic cliché these days, but what on earth made the Surgery Management feel a warning was necessary?

It is for Prescriptions (Repeat ones).......not DEPOSITS. Possibly someone coming in with a requested 'sample' might get confused? . A lot of the older generation remember front facing staff at Doctor's surgeries who helped everyone who came in. Not the case today.

I think it's to try and stop people going through the door next to the box, which states 'CLINICAL WASTE DO NOT ENTER'. You know, for Mildred, who has spent all morning getting ready and then walking half a mile to the doctors to drop off her prescription, by the time she gets there and posts it in the box she really has no idea what she is doing or where she is, so she decides the quickest way out is through the nearest door, unfortunately she goes through, catches hepatitis A, B C, and D, herpes, aids, corona virus and rabies and then has to endure a slow and agonising death.... all because she had forgotten her reading glasses so couldn't read the warning.

Well that's my take on it. Now back to work.
