Seems we can bet on anything these days, and I was intrigued to see that includes "Next Pope".

It would be rather cool if the 6/1 shot Pierbattista Pizzaballa was the chosen one.

Just imagine the fun & puns the newsreaders & headline writers could have with Pope Pierbattista Pizzaballa

Still waiting for a (presumably) Dutch or South African contender by the name of GoesdeVeesil.

    Altogether now

Half a pound of tuppeny rice
    Half a pound of treacle
That's the way the money goes
    Pope GoesdeVeesil

    :)

    This one is for @rabdeniro

Although I am sure he has heard it before. Apologies if this offends anyone-it is not meant to.

A Rangers fan turns 100 years old. He has been a season ticket holder for 88 years. Invited on to the pitch at Ibrox before a game. And the interviewer asks him what was the best year in the history of Rangers FC. He instantly replied-1978.

The interviewer said-why 1978. Scraped the League in 77/78, poor season in 78/79. Likewise, a Cup win and some horrible shocks.

He replied. "True. But 2 Popes died"

I'm surprised Cardinal Ular from Venezuela didn't get the nod, he would have been a well liked Pope. (I'll get my coat).
