This day last year

"Afternoon.

I'm several hours behind today, so probably just a swift run-through.

Plenty of overlay around last night. Misses included £800 BH (£20 shy), 7 @ 7 (£28 shy), £1k Rebuy (£30 shy), Mini (£220 shy), Mega (£120 shy), 9 @ 9 £81 shy, & Reload (£93 shy). Nothing too bad, although that £220 Mini miss is not good. Man U v Newcastle was on TV, plus the "big" match in Scotland, not sure we can blame those. I often worry about being too honest in these write ups & players getting spooked by my overlay reports but on balance it's better to be open imo. One regular player of my acquaintance has been telling me for 5 years that Sky Poker won't be here next year, but he's gone all quite lately. Maybe last night's numbers will start him off again. Meh.

The Main did just fine though, & it was @Limp2Lose who came out on top. He had a great night actually as he won the Sheriff too. Think it was his 2nd Main Event win in 2024, plus he won a BWBH & ran 2nd in the Major at the end of March. 2nd was @mnolan8317 who has a delicious looking CV which includes winning a boomlet Major which was worth around £5,500 to him. In 4th was the ubiquitous @Natnug who was also 3rd in Turbo.

Even though the Mini was on the Naughty Step with that overlay, it still took some winning with 206 runners so well done to @dazlidub04 for whom I think this was a first significant win.

@Dan5678 won Quickdraw, his first featured MTT win in his 8 years here, though he's low volume at MTT's & plays 10 times as much cash as Tourneys.

I the SPT Glasgow Semi, @pokerblair won his first seat, &, remarkably, @ctbn won his third. He's the only player so far to have won more than one seat. It's a miracle.

In the Vegas Quarter, Semi Final seats went to @gregos619 @bakersdoze & @madprof, though I think there's may be a dupe or two in there. Worth pointing out that Sunday's Semi Final which guarantees 8 seats to the Final currently has just 8 entries. Also, the 2nd Final is this Sunday, guaranteeing 3 Vegas packages, & currently has just 17 runners.

Morning.

Summer is here big time & with it seasonal declines in traffic. "This day last year" mentioned overlay in 7 different events, & last night it was worse, with 9 of the 12 Featured Events (I exclude the PLO8 from this) missing guarantee. Misses included £800 BH (£40), 7 @ 7 (£56), Main (£530), Mini (£75), Mega (£40), Summit (£800), Reload (£165), Turbo (£220) & MidEx (£140. Those with reasonable mathematic dexterity will have totted that lot up to £2,066. Roll on transition & of course next winter.

A good night for @cash123 who won the Main having already finished 2nd in the £800 BH. It was his 2nd Main Event win, the first being an Avenger Main all the way back in 2017. Has won a UKOPS Mini too. Been here 13 years & has always been profitable, Sharky reckon he has a 36% ROI over almost 6,000 games which I'd say is more than decent. Runner-up @Steed432 just gets better & better & Sharky now peg him at 95. Played just 4 MTT's here last night (I imagine he plays mainly on the "Big Sites) & from those 4 was 2nd in the Main, 1st in Turbo & 1st in Quickdraw. 2 wins and a 2nd from 4 outings is stunning. Sharky suggest a 40% ROI off an ABI of £50, which is absolutely top class.

The Mini went to @BUNDIS who had an odd sort of day, playing 4 MTT's over a 12.5 hour period. First was an 8am £150 TBH (3/29), then at 11am another £150 TBH (12/34), next a 3.30pm £250 TBH (12/51) & then at 8.30pm, 1/285 in the Mini. 2nd was man-of-the-moment @billtackle who has been making FT's for fun, & has had wins in 9 @ 9 (twice) 7 @ 7 & Mega in the last month.

As you'd expect, Team Big Boy dominated Summit, with 3 of the top 6 in the 2025 Sky Poker Sharky MTT Leaderboard featuring - winner @loololollo then @loosecamel with @destinycod in 5th. They sit 2nd, 3rd & 5th in the leaderboard, though fair to say that the unbelievably pesky & annoying @Natnug is streets clear at the top.

@Mumbledore has been cashing with great frequency lately, & took 1st place in the £800 BH, with subsequent Gold Rush Main winner @cash123 in 2nd place.

The £800 BH fell to @kobkob05 (wonder why "05"?) who seems to be on & off the site most of the day.

7 @ 7 was won by @Con101 which appears to be his best score since running 6th in that £5k Sunday night BH back in February.

@Natnug was at his annoying best, winning Mega, MidEx & an SPT Glasgow seat, in the process becoming the first player to win 3 seats to SPT Glasgow.

@ady698820 is an infrequent visitor to the MTT streets with just 7 appearances since finishing 2nd in 9 @ 9 almost a month ago, and went that all-important one spot better last night, oioi.

@YHall has taken 13 years to play around 120 MTT's & as far as I can see, last night's Reload was his first ever Featured MTT victory. That would have felt awesome.

Must mention @LittleGJ who not only won the Rewards Freeroll, but also won a seat to the Major in the Sunday Major Freeroll. Very nice.
