    Hi MAIZERAIDER

I have had a chat with tikay regarding the possible closure of DTD, he has said that DTD is not closing.

I am sure if, nay when tikay reads this thread he will tell you.

    Cheers

Barry is correct. It is not, & will not, be closing, any time soon, if ever.

A bungled newspaper interview caused the misunderstanding. It was never stated it would be closing except in error, by the newspaper, a local rag.

It really is THE most splendid place to play Poker, & given that it's owned & run by a bunch of guys who have been good friends of mine for many years, (Rob Yong, Nick Whiten, Simon Trumper, Chubbs, & Yogi-Bear), it was an especially proud moment for me when Sky Poker took their Grand Final there.

And did DTD perform? Just a bit.......

I'm also, in another life, Chairman of APAT, an organisation that promotes Amateur Poker via well-structured Tournaments & added-Value, & I'm delighted that DTD will be hosting the Amateur World Championships in August.

Sadly, & before you ask, no, there are no seats available - it sold out on the night it was announced - back in March! AND the players had to pay the Entry Fee to Register. How about that?!

DTD is here to stay, & will outlast me. You can bet on that.

Thats good to hear - Im sure I saw an interview with Tikay on Sky a few weeks back where there was something about tax or duty implications mentioned which was concerning.

All I gotta do now is drag my bottom down there - its only 10 minutes from me so I dont really have any excuse!!

Yes, they've been battered this way & that by the Taxman, VAT, & Compliance Costs, unlike all the Unlicensed Rooms which are flourishing, & can swerve all that. So yeah, Rob is a bit down about it all right now, as you would have seen in the two interviews he gave In-Poker.

I don't see it ever closing, though.

At the mo funds are tight but if things improve I'd like to get out there sometime. Living just south of Nottingham it's only 15 minutes away, though I get to the circus casino one at the cornerhouse from time to time but not as often as I'd like.
